A very good sewing machine to get hold of is the Brother TZ1 652 Industrial Zig Zag. Sailrite used this as their Sailrite Sailmaker Sewing Machine. Not a walking foot but has agressive 12 mm wide feed dogs that feed as well as the Ultrafeed, long stitch length too. That, a larger throat and very refined. Sailrite only stopped selling them as the Brother heads became too expensive. I own both and it is the machine of choice at home. I bought mine in an industrial table for $250 and swaped out the clutch motor for a servo. Very poweful and i can sew as slow as a stitch per second. The servo motor i bought of Ebay for $110. There is one for sale on Gumtree for $750 which is a bit expensive IMO. A while back i saw one down at the tip for sale for $50, the machine was good but the table needed work.

what about a machine capable of doing triple straight stitch zig zag, or has twin needles?
In truth, I'd be happier if my if my sailrite clone just had a larger bobbin, especially when using a decent thickness thread....

Newbie to the forum here so please go easy on me

I was wondering if anyone that has a Sailrite LSZ-1 would be interested in renting me theirs for a few weeks over the next few weeks? I ordered one from Sailrite in the US and have received the accessories and parts I ordered but have just been told the sewing machine has 'gone missing'! I imagine it's going to take a while to sort out and I have some projects I'd really like to get done in the meantime.

I've reached out to @TKNick through private message but just in case his isn't available, if there is anyone else interested I'd be open to options. Feel free to private message me and we can go from there. I'm in Newcastle but happy to drive up to say 3.5hours each way to pick up and drop off (I wouldn't want to use a courier and I'm sure neither would you).

We would like people on this forum to know that we intend selling our:
Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ-1 PREMIUM Sewing Machine With WorkerB Power Pack (110V) and also have 240V to 120V Adaptor.

The machine has only been used to make 2 handbags and having accomplished this, my wife feels that her existing sewing machines will be able to cope with her future projects.

So, the Sailrite is virtually brand new, it will be 2 years old in Nov this year -
Delivered direct in Dec, 2021, from:
Sailrite Enterprises, Inc.
2390 East 100 South
Columbia City, IN 46725

We live in Perth, WA.

For anyone interested, we will be advertising the machine on Gumtree, eBay, Marketplace or any Yachties sales sites in approximately 1 week.

Not sure of how this forum works, but if anyone replies, we'll work out contact details etc., from then.

Best Regards

Thanks for your replies Grith and Lenn.
I suppose we were just dipping a toe in the water.
As you would know, these are quite expensive to get over here.
We will work out what we paid, the fact that the machine is only 2 years old and has really not been 'run in' yet.
In fact, we could put the costs on here and see what people are willing to pay for it.
We'll try to sit down tonight and work out what they're selling for now, shipping costs, import duty etc., against what we paid.
I can't post photos on here, but will put them on Marketplace or Gumtree, later this week.

Regards
