This is going to make kiting look sooo uncool.. What are yas gunna to do!!!???
Time to ditch the kites and take up water sports that are more credible like surfing or windsurfing.
Water sports that are more challenging and rewarding.

Can't think of any windsurfers or surfers getting snigged through a gravel car park bouncing of a cupla landcruisers and luxy's , by their kit lololollololol

thats why kiting is soo good (not because you get dragged through a carpark ) but because you can actully get air and do powered tricks unlike windsurfing where a backroll is world champion standard.

yeer,what everyone else say's......rateings for B/R will hit the roof.......will take the limelight of all the regular drowning ants that happen on an overcrowded overpolluted Sydney beach....interesting to see how much of the show will be dedicated to (1) little kitesurfer in a mess....feel sorry for him, despite all the conjecture,he is one of us!

Holy Moly!
I just dropped in from the windsurfing side to see how all youse guys were getting on over here.
It's like accidentally walking over a nest of black ants!
It's a real jungle over here. Kiter eat kiter. (mmm,. that might be nice, if I can pick which ones.)

I'm going back home to the windsurf section where there are "friendly faces everywhere and humble folk without temptation", oh and "ample parking day or night."

windsurfers are like rats stubbornly clinging onto their rotten hulk of a sport as it sinks into the sea

i cant wait to see how they portray our sport tommorow but i don't think it will be in a good way

Lol I pulled a poleboarders gear all the way from the main break to shore and I didn't get beer

It really has got everything now, even the old kite vs. windsurf debate has had a look-in.

I'll give even odds that the kite accident is in the last third of the program tomorrow, after the last main ad break.

ok well what i am saying is in windsurfing the tricks are more basic but alot harder to learn.

and stribo i am sure you will be world champ soon

I'm sure boosting air and doing tricks on a kiteboard would be fun, but when you really think about it, most windsurfing tricks would be alot harder.

Kiteboarding - get speed, boost air, do something spinny etc whilst hanging off a swivel with a parachute above you.

Windsurfing - get speed, hit rise in water, get airtime, do something spinny (but instead of dangling with a parachute to ease you thru, you need to move around your whole setup, then have cat-like balance to land)

Ewan - you mention a backroll (which I take as in the opposite of a 'forward') as complex in windsurfing (not disagreeing here, but there is alot of other harder looking tricks). For a windsurfer this means your body spinning over your gear full circle. I haven't seen a kiteboarder do a backy spinning all the way over his kite yet (but hey prove me wrong and i'll be stoked for your sport, it'll be better then I thought).
