Don't know if your still here sandman but there is heaps more hooked in stuff. I know what you mean about passing the bar especially when you have to stretch to touch your hands behind your back. So what about proper downloops or one I like the look of a mega loop with a slow back roll during the loop. Gota agree with sir rowdy though your better off doing raileys and unhooked backrolls cos you won't suffer any where near as much pain when you stuff up

I give up... goodbye seabreezers

can't let the grommies who can't leave a topic alone win dude. Have you tried all the landing to blind options? (the blind tantrum thingo looked sweet!)

Have been discussing backloop frontrolls here, anyone seen it done?

Seriously rating the video back up as trick evidence/clarification. Saves me looking through kitesurf accidents on youtube

Saw it recently on a clip a guy riding the board in flat water turned on it's end , do you have to remove the fins for this one? Had a go at it the other day and went nowhere, looked like he was nailing it easily

wow why do u always read between the lines rookies? im still being serious like board offs are the way to go cos theres endless options, take toby for example.

i dont get how doing unhooked crashes hurt less but ok then princess...

once again this is unhooked but i always found opposite roll to kiteloops fun eg front roll kiteloops and backroll downloops etc feel pretty trippy.

There maybe endless variations but are really only fun when your sick of hurting yourself trying everything else. Maybe board off kite loops might change that.
It doesn't matter if you hooked or unhooked its how hard you hit the water that hurts princess and half the unhooked stuff I see is at slow speed and about one foot off the water or a little dangle and landing with no speed.

heard that it makes it easier. A dude here did it by taking his foot out of the binding and planting it on the tail of the board - guarantee's some good stacks too.
My LF concept came with pissy little fins that i reckon would work well for slides, now all we need here is some glass calm water.

You don't have to take your fins out, although it does make it easier to press for longer. You don't need calm water and you don't need to take your foot out of the straps. It's actually quite easy, turn 90 degrees while leaning onto your tip. if you do it hooked in it's even easier.

Whats the trick to actually getting the board going sideways? Every time I tried it it stalled ?

Butterslide or press - you can do it on the nose or the tail like in this clip:

just move your weight around a bit between your heels and toes, you can feel it when you get the right position and stop your stalling, almost push your bottom foot's toes into the water a bit more

yep and falling vertically like 3meters with no forward speed is far worse while being strapped to a parachute.

it hurts more when you got a horizontal speed component as it's harder to break the surface.

but thats besides the point.

im just saying it looks better, and is more technical, and feels better than just doing a bunch of spins and grabbing the spins.

in my opinion that is.
