Lets call this what it is, for Mark-Australia, like alot of windsurfers, is just crying like a spoilt child who does not want to share his lolly bag. Didn't your Mummy never tell you to share?
It's not surprising really just one of the more unpleasant truths of human nature, the avaricious hoarding for personal pleasure. It takes a bigger man to know the pleasure of sharing.
I dare say if kitesurfing had preceded windsurfing , there would be an awful lot of kiters giving out about windsurfers overtaking 'their' spots. Kiters are just as human. Surfers have done it to windsurfers, Boogie boarders and goat boaters and then to SUPs. The same attitudes to some extent determine our feelings about refugees, migrants, muslims whatever........they are not like us so therefore we can hate them. Feudalism, tribalism, racism, it's all cut of the same cloth , just another expression of that same ugly side of human nature.
There is no intrinsic reason while kitesurfers and windsurfers cannot peaceably share a break. It works well across the world and is well demonstrated at Gnaraloo, Margies, Avalon and Dutch Inn is no exception. The rules of right of way are clear and if everyone obeys them, then life is easy
I have lived at Dutch inn for 15yrs and have windsurfed and latterly kited it enough times to know that although it is almost always better somewhere else but it has its moments and the attraction of being at home.
Frankly nothing gets up my nose more than some whingeing windsurfer telling me to go back to the kitesurfing area or vice versa if I drag out the poleboard. This is the the Wind and the Ocean and it is thank God its still free to all and windsurfers have never bought the freehold because it was never theirs to buy..simple.
See you on the water Mark Australia......... c'mon feel the love.
More like overstuffed, spoilt, hyper ADHD kids (of all ages) showing up with their new toys and unable to help themselves from wanting to take over the
whole playground - including a few
small areas that poleys congregate - ay Niall.

Let's call this for what it really is - in reality.

I have come accross the odd poley who assumes that ALL kiters are selfish ****s and wil be too eager to give the royal wave. However,
in my experiance tho, it is a total minority compared to the number of actual idiot kiters out there, and also decent poleys who will move and do almost anything to accomodate ADHD tools with their spanky new kites.
Been seeing quite a bit of 'new season carnage' (NSC), like on Tuesday the peanut doing a 4km body drag to Brighton,
not moving out of the breaks, staying in the waves and pinging his kite at full velocity from 9-3-9-3 o'clock with total reckless abandon for anyone/anything in the vicinity!!

Although I wanted to tell him he was being an idiot and a selfish/dangerous ****, instead I politely suggested he move out a bit deeper and outta the waves to resume - so as not to stuff things for all concerned. "Grrrr[}:)]" was the peanut's response.
Sigh.. those ADHD kids are hard work.

NSC happens this time every year. Most of it sorts itself out by mid-way through the season as the peanuts either scare the cr@p outta themselves, get worded up (or knuckled[}:)]

) get their skillz together, get educated or get a Darwin award.
Could be more Darwin awards nominees than most years tho. Suck it up and hang in there for mid-season.
