Cassa said...I got p[ssed off with guys taking days off , especially when they know there are jobs that have to be done urgently, ssssooooo , anyone who has a day off without good cause, (ya have to be dying , or a relative ) can have a week off !
1st one to get the week off hasnt had a day off for a year, then , new girlfriend , and had 4 days off last month. had a day off tuesday , so he now has a week to think about things.
Anyone got any good solutions on how to fix these slack f--ers .
I Hate lazy no good useless pieces of sh-te.
so much money to earn , but no one wants to work for it .
???????????

Different generation, different values.
I work for a large Company. last time I looked, had over *** days owing

While at the coal face, there was always in-house competition, to see who would earn the most each month

We didn't take sickies, for a few reasons.
1: it was dishonest in our books, (still is, but not viewed in same light I think

)
2:if your off crook, you only get 8 hours pay, if your at work, you can grab most times 12 hours.

Friday was worst, if crook, only six hours sick pay, at work six hours plus the double bubble for the next six.

Then again most of us had mortgages in the period of 18%+ rate era, so we had to crank it on regardless.

3: sickies impacted the rostering of weekend overtime, off sick, got last choice, and some of the left overs were crap jobs one avoided with vigilance

On the front line was choice

So Cassa, whats the answer, buggered if I know. Been looking at this for a few years and its tough.
One solution I experienced with a small business trucking mob I thought may have been on the money a few years back.
The owner, without anything written down set a bonus scheme up He placed $500 cash (may have been more) a week up for grabs, you blew a sicky, late for work, late back from lunch, your out of the mix and the remainder of the team split the $500 or so. If everybody blew it, stayed in the boss's kick.
He believed it worked a treat, His gun lads benefited, the slack ones caved in under pear pressure and upped their game or walked. In the end his reliability went through the roof

And his customers thought his team were guns

One thing he had to do was monitor those coming in so the ones genuine sick cases he sent home crook, no loss of the bonus, but they stopped blowing shifts on him real quick.
Not one bloke ever had a bad word to say about him
