I installed Windows 7 Home Ultimate 64 bit on my Compaq laptop. It runs well, picking up most devices out of the box. A couple of devices haven't been spotted and I haven't been able to find drivers for them from the Compaq website.

The laptop seems to run faster with Windows 7 than Vista Home Basic 32 bit that it previously had. 7 looks much better too, with the aero effects working well.

Overall I'm happy with 7.
