Kiteboy dave, no quoting cos it will be too long. My point is that some terms are just so bloody minor as far as "infractions"go, that it is 'acceptable labelling'. Pom (UK ppl) / bluey (for a red haired person) etc. None of them get offended.
Scotty's use of "chow" is in context with taking the p!ss out of a crappy song and the artist, not a slur on all asians.

Like I might post a vid of Coldplay (who I detest musically) and say "sh!t pommie song" and I reckon you'd have not said anything. That is my issue - white folk of the politically correct persuasion demand that other white folk are held to higher standards than other countries. Half of asia's populous hates us and are the most racist you'll ever see. I have no issue with them calling me gwai lo. I reckon the vast majority of ppl have no issue with Scotty's use of chow.
BTW I don't call them anything other than people regardless of what they call me.

Mark I totally agree it was a bloody minor infraction, made a tiny bit worse by the 'he looks like the 1 other korean I know (=they all look the same). Made much worse by RPM's 'jokes' and then the pair of them sniggering about 'don't forget the war'.

Obviously some agreed with my take on it as my initial comment went green and has stayed that way despite some people going back and red thumbing everything I've said. (watch it change now!)

I'm here for the discussion, and if people think twice about their actions next time then it's worthwhile. The more ** I cop, the more I'll keep punching outta my corner.

I know lots of Koreans and he does look like Kim Jong - because he has a pudgy face, not cos all asians look alike . So maybe the comment was well intended.

Don't forget the war snigger snigger was acceptable in Fawlty Towers, was it not?

Why do you continue to push the "they all look the same" card.
I posted a photo of Psy and a photo of King Jong 2 and blind Freddy could see the resemblance (now don't start on me about offending the vision impaired).
That's 2 Koreans looking similar out of a population of 73,000,000.

No surprises there.

I call it a "racist thread" and later that it had "racist / rednecky overtones". That's all I said. The rest was discussion. Nothing else that could be taken as name calling.

In return I get:
I'm a commie (Red), public servant, reverse racist, leftie crusader, Coitboy (Smiko getting classy there) and a dip****. A lefty, bleading heart, doogooder, politically correct. (not my spelling errors)

Reasoned arguement from one side met with name calling from the other.
