= Death to the small businesses where the staff have reached puberty and actually know what they are talking about.
I'll name the wa^&ers. BUNNINGS
They are useless.
There is so many things they don't have also.
Speedfile sheets (sanding sheets for a thing that looks like a hand plane, for doing auto body work) - htey'd never heard of it.
I went in and asked if they sold Vernier calipers, 6 staff had no idea. For christ sakes ppl, it is a very common engineering/mechanical or woodworking (lathe) tool. I even decribed what they look like and what they do... all said they did not stock them. 2 days later I saw a couple of them at the tool counter!
No hi tensile bolts.
Very limited metric bolts (anything patio related no probs)
Asked the girls once if she had M6 nylocs - she thought I meant her pantihose.
I can't remember the number of times I've left that place empty handed in the last 15 yrs or so. I reckon it is 50% of my visits they don't have what I need or the lack of knowledge is amazing.
Bring on Yankee hardware chains where you can buy a v8 engine, any tool in the world, or even better guns and ammo too.
