It would have to be Profit and Loss. Whether he got offended or not, I think Remery saw red when it came to that sort of content and can't help himself in responding 'enthusiastically'.

Maybe people like me need a mechanism where we can't respond to the same user or thread for progressively longer times? To make use moderate how often we post?

Thats because most of them got banned on a permanent basis. straight up, because they were bonafide trolls, with no real existence on seabreeze outside of causing trouble.


Sooo how many chances does he get? He's more than just the tease the others were, he comments in the windsurfing forums on occasion, and even sells gear in the buy and sell section. But surely repeated bad behaviour must have a permanent ban somewhere on the horizon?

Where do you draw the line between temporary and permanent? Do you get told if its permanent or just keep on trying to login each week? Do you eventually lose interest and move on or something else? Is there some guy trying to logon now, thinking 'maybe this time?'

If I recall correctly Oliver changed his username to adolph after he lost a bet about the correctness of a known fact on these forums. I beLIEve he asked Laurie to change it, and by popular consensus the request was granted. I don't think Oliver got a permanent ban or was opaque about a username change. adolph on the other hand....

Although I may be wrong stand corrected so perhaps it might be best to check with somebody who has a detailed knowledge of the 30 year history of seabreeze. Failing that just ask Oliver directly.

Yes that's my understanding also.

Adolf's undoing on seabreeze was his own fault. He, like Remery, got a little too caught up in arguments with randoms who were wrong and got triggered far too easily from a particularly odious Skoda driver, who also ended up with a permanent ban.

Good on him for be able to take a step back, gaze into the metaphorical mirror and see his own mistakes. And good on him for being able to recognise and understand those minor personal flaws.

I do recall some of Adolf's posts with particular fondness. He may not have been the suppository of all knowledge, a self-proclaimed expert in every field dispensing distain for anyone who dare beLIEve the truth was something different to his truth, but I think we can all agree he certainly did appear to have expert knowledge in a select group of very diverse subjects.

Makes you wonder why, if Adolf can do it, others cannot.

ive been permanently banned from seabreeze like 5 times? maybe 10 ?

the first few i actually asked for myself to be banned and my messages to be deleted a few after that i was just getting suspensions cause i kept saying the word **** in my sentences without realiseing it was a swear word and people that didnt like me would report yada yada and a few more after that was if you do ANYTHING to impact a shop sponsor basically theyll threaten to pull theyre advertiseing [ they pay like a hundred or a few hundred cant remember its been ahwhile since i sponsored ] but in return you get to post as many advrts with photos as you like so if your a shop thats going to post maybe 100 diff kite items then it actually works out really cheap to just sponsor the breeze
anyways where was i ahahhahaha oh yeah can yas tell im useing a bloody keyboard again finally YEAAAAAhhhhhhhh boy i havent gotten photo shop to work quite yet dicked around with bloody new microsoft word for like 3 days before i gave up and now i just take screenshots of what i type on word and just send the screenshots into the emails anyways yes so bannings it used to be like some picture of a kid with steam blowing out of theyre ears and saying your accounts suspended blah blah

banning doesnt work at all

all bans should be lifted and we should be allowed to delete our posts within a 24 hour period after posting and what should be put into place instead of bannings is a suspension that doesnt get lifted until you correct your offending post and you state why it isnt apropriate and then it should cop a green thumb or a red thumb for the rest of the tribe to allow the suspension to be lifted and until thats done someone like me will pretty much never stop saying **** or bloody ****n bloody ya bastard ya know what i mean ? also ill never go back on my stance of hooked in kiteing being the literal training wheels on a bike
