Excess deaths were quite close to covid deaths. A little lower because covid was not always recorded as the cause of death. Particularly in the early part of the pandemic and with itinerant people.

My neighbor got stuck and the very next day he died (in a car accident but that's irrelevant to my anecdote).

Or did you go to a hospital for medical intervention by an actual medically trained and qualified doctor? A doctor who probably updated your tetanus vaccination.
Dr Avis statement of these cases are mostly mild and go away quickly is now completely incorrect
