3 things, all of which may or may not have any basis in fact whatsoever

1) I can see the future
2) Notwithstanding my ability to predict the future, it took me ages to dig my ancient iPhone out of the place I had left it to rot
3) I have seen the future of Seabreeze.com.au, and it is good

More drip feeding of screen shots to come over the coming days

I will post screen shots both in the thread and also in this first post.

My phone has 'Windows Phone' on it, which is v7.x, as oppose to 'Windows Mobile', which was v6.x. The Windows Phone OS was a complete rebuild from Windows Mobile, and has some cool features.

Anyway, the boss tells me that nobody accesses Seabreeze via Windows Phone, according to Google Analytics. I read a story a month or two ago however, that WP7 (Windows Phone 7, nerdspeak) wasn't registering as a distinct OS on GA, which had only just been changed.

So, does anyone else use WP7 here?

I've got an icon that looks just like that on my iphone - had it for at least 2 years.

I did it like this on my iphone in three steps.

1. you open the page you want on your browser;
2. You hit the the middle icon at the bottom of your screen;
3. choose "Add to Home Screen"

Why did it take so long for you guys to figure that out?

Sure do. I have a HTC mozart that is windows 7 and it has internet explorer stock standard. Does everything my PC does. Check out seabreeze and post no problem every where I've been in the country. Missus has iphone 4 and IMO the HTC sh!ts all over it.

It's good how they can put live information directly on the tiles hey? More like 'windows' than the 'closed doors' of iPhone icons...

It's great fun building the app, and yes, aiming to support Android & Windows in good time. As iPhone's are far and away the most popular, Apple is the platform that gets attention first.

Regards the "existing" mobile app .. yes, by all means - point your mobile browser at m.seabreeze.com.au and you'll get a sweet cut down view of the site (no top or side pesky menus) and minimal bandwidth usage. (Or continue to use the full site).

There's a link at the very bottom of every page (quite hidden) titled "Mobile Weather Site" which you can click on, inside your mobile's browser (to save you typing).

Regards iphone -vs- htc -vs- windows. Yes, they all have inbuilt browsers which are excellent, and get the job done perfectly well. After experiencing the goodness of a dedicated app, Apps are definitely the way to go, plus, the App will feature some new groovy stuff, but more on that when it's more reality than imagination!

Enjoy .. Loz
