The BeachHouse Fiji a DOG'S TALE
Just got back from my very first overseas trip a few weeks ago

....one very happy puppy

And would love to thank the wonderful crew @ the BeachHouse on the coral coast for putting up with my crap

and for making my stay with them so much fun 24/7

i spent the first part of my trip hanging out with Von Piros and his band of merry men and women

and scored waves everyday...

then after they all slowly passed off

i thought..... id have the place to myself for a while.......

chill-axe out a bit, just sit back, relax and take things easy..... Fiji Time Style Bro

hahahaha ....AS IF!!!!!!!

.....it only took 1 day and out of the blue i was joined by fellow sup frothers Mark Hatful aka. Quiver Caddy

and the Woolgoolga Grommet Sup Squad Crew that only live just up the road from me back in OZ

how wrong was i......

OK...... lets Rock n Roll people

and how much fun did we have....YEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Once again a big thanks to the BeachHouse crew "for putting up with the havoc" that went down at the Bar n Pool Table each night..... and to whoeva gave me "the megaphone and free beer" to call the Cane Toad n Sand Crab races..... i bet you wont do that again next time.....lol..... now that was funny

Here's a shot of Andrew Brown BeachHouse Resort owner and full tilt sup FROTHER with all the gang and the winners after the 10k downwind sup race.

All enjoying a few corona's

and waiting for the strawberry jam n scones to be served at 3:30

...yum my favourite time of day

Some of the best parts of my trip wasn't surfing...

it was chilling hanging out with the locals...

n the local kids were my favourite.. soooo cool!!!!

A nice right just a few reef passes up from the beach house.

Got a few nice ones on this day.

And was luck that a dude from sweden had a camera and the boat guide Semi grabbed it and cracked a few shots of the Dog.

Terrorising the groms with Mark and Julie...... crack me up

The stud left-hander that sits 20+km off the coast was my favourite wave and it was offshore or crossoff nearly every day of the trip. It picked up the most swell of all the coral coast breaks and i soon became addicted to the long walling lefts.

It always had a wave and the most amazing clear water.

The bigger it got the better it would break. And the beat-downs got bigger and better too....

My leggy got caught around a coral head and i had a bit of a moment at one stage.... and that was on a small day....

Here I'm trying hard to outrun an angry lump of water on one of the wilder days....yewwwwww!!!!!

We slept good this night...

When it was small it was a lot of fun...... but getting pinned on the bottom with that backpack setup was not that fun

I ended up leaving my backpack setup with the local sup crew and hope its still in one piece when i go back...

product placement much!!!!!! lol..

I also got to use Keahi's new backpack setup while he was in the neighbourhood. We took a little adventure over to the crowded side of the island when a big swell was predicted and got to have a crack at that famous left...... some of the NICEST WAVES ON THE PLANET break along that amazing long reef pass...
I scored a few little gems this day.

Cant wait to go back!!!!!!!!!

FIJI supn the south (coral) coast
BULA

Skeghead and I are staying at the Mango Bay Resort on the Coral Coast which is only 2k from Beachouse Resort.

Both resorts have access to reef breaks and offer budget, but very good accomodation.

We chose this location to get away from the surf crowds and to give our ladies a bit of scope for daily excursions.

The tides are currently high at dawn and dusk .. this is good because it also coinsides with the glass-off periods and the reefs only seem to work at high tide.

But the quandry is .. what are we gunna do when the tides coinside with the wind which blows most daylight hours ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Who is the best Peak body to represent SUP in Aust
Who is the best Peak body to represent Stand Up Paddle in Australia?

I am not asking who should represent Stand Up Paddle in Australia.

I am asking who is the best Peak body to represent Stand Up Paddle in Australia.

Please broaden your answers to any existing bodies and to any new bodies that could be formed.

You can answer from your existing loyalty.

However today's thread is a broader question that relates to the future of the sport.

I have had a guts full of the political manoeuvring happening in Stand Up Paddle. I have decided to live my vision through my company Suplove and its core values, respect for the community and the environment and the joy of sharing the ocean and in who I am as a person. I run two Stand Up Paddle Schools on the northern beaches, Sydney. I see my vision in the delight on a first timers as they "get" SUP. I see it in the Suplove community. I see it in adventure and sharing waves.

I am the founder of Suplove, I sat in on the first meeting discussing a Sup peak body now called Sup-Australia. I asked not to be on the board as I started to see the political side in Australia was not in congruence with my vision. I am from a surfing background and a surf coaching background and yet pushed my company to make the naval architect designed and specialised flat water race board the "Stingray". Surfing is one of the things we can do. I am excited of the prospect of Olympic dreams, Rio has a nice ring to it. Kai Lenny smoked us racing on the Ocean yesterday. These are my dreams.

Who is the best Peak body to represent Stand Up Paddle in Australia?

Fiji Beachouse DW &sup surfing on the Coral Coast
Just came back from Fiji ,stayed at the Beachouse Thanks Piros for recommending it my 6 year old son loved it didnt want to home

,,
we had a ball did 3 DW paddles 10km 2 in 30knt 1 the race which I didnt know was on ,was like a lake but paddling over beautiful coral reefs ,surfing Fiji are organizing sup racing each month so look up there website or there face book for info and photos
www.surfingfiji.com.fj
Thanks to Scotty at Namouto for lending me a paddle for the race and Andrew from the Beachouse I borrowed a Corban Alpha not as fast as the starboard Im use to but it was amazing to be able to get on the water with the crew, my wife Cath also did it and won the women section on a 11ft 6 cruiser beating the Fiji girls on there 12.6
The spirt is the same as the Scotts Head race participation they had 17 guys and girls with all levels of experience .
If your looking for a great sup holiday family or mates its like staying at someones house ,Had some great sessions on the 8.11 right out front and then took some boat trips to uncrowded breaks
Andrew is the Agent for Corban so you can hire boards off him and you can DW at high'to mid tide ,, and they will pick you up ,water temp is perfect 25d
I will throw a few more photos up when i get a chance ,I would also recommend it to clubs as it very reasonable and your on the mainland plus Andrew is constantly getting more water equipment
