Fishing from boat == cheating
I haven't been fishing for ages, but my interest in it was reignited recently. I'm planning a camping trip with a few friends at false entrance WA for some balloon fishing in late March - can't wait.

Last Sunday, I thought I'd check out if my rods/reels were still in good order. It was a nice still day so I decided to paddle out and try my luck from my sup board. My wayward son went diving with his school and told me he saw some good sized flathead in the bay, so I decided to target them. I paddled out about 400m from North Road Boat Ramp in Brighton and thought I'd try my luck.

The first 30 minutes I kept on getting snagged. I couldn't quite work out why and then I thought about hanging on to the rod and feel what the heck was going on. Within seconds I got hit. There must have been huge schools of Snapper underneath me. After that it was just non stop action and I managed bring home 7 baby snapper.

We cooked them that night on the barbeque, with the lid down, using a sweet chily sauce and lime coating - yum yum.

Tonight I was watching channel 31 and there were all these hero's catching fish from their $50K boats while all patting themselves on their obese backs - f'cking toe rags. Why don't they just take up zumba?

It's land based for me or human powered crafts. Anything else doesn't count.

They are cheat'n AFAIC
