Hi - I want to get pushpit/pulpits made for my Folkboat moored in inner west. Have come to a few dead ends with either shipwrights charging like wounded bulls or fabricators just not interested. Any recommendations regarding fabricators either in Sydney harbour or Pittwater, and also what is a reasonable price? Been quoted $5k which seems a little steep, and $3k from fabricator that couldn't return a call or email for 3 months..... Any advice much appreciated!!

Looking at pulling my boat out in October for for a bottom clean and antifoul. Also considering repainting topsides up to toelrail while it's out.

Can anyone recommend/info/feedback on previous experiences using roller/brush technique or a tradesman.

Boat is located in mandurah however moving to the river in October so have a few options for hardstands. Mandurah boat lifters/Henderson boat lifters.

I bought my Folkboat nearly three months ago now.

Yesterday I had to finally accept that I have been taken for a big, fat ride by the shipwright I entrusted to work on my little boat. Despite promise after unfilled promise, the work is nowhere near complete. I would estimate it is about 1/8 finished.

I (stupidly) handed over $1300 before work commenced. He returned $100 and told me I won't be getting any more than that back.

To 'protect my gear from the dust' he removed all my gear from the boat and stored it at his home. After countless demands, he finally returned some of this gear. I eventually had to have a male friend intervene to have some more items returned. However, some things remain unaccounted for.

I'm very upset and sad. Call me stupid if you like, but I do tend to be a trusting soul. All I wanted was to have my boat fixed and go sailing. Was this really too much to ask? Now I'm back at Square One.

This isn't about sailing, but there should be a few people here who would know. I need to paint the hull of I fibreglass Canadian Canoe. What kind of paint should I use?

I am doing up my mirror to sell (so I can buy a redwitch), and never having painted a wooden boat's hull before, I do not know what paint I should use. Could someone please tell me what paint I should use?
