Thats insane. Dunno if it helps but in brookvale theres a alluminium boat welding place on old pittwater road. They repaired my snapped boom in a day for $100. Did a great job and were easy going.

I am not sure who the used but endeavour marine in Kogarah bay (botany bay yacht club ) had mine repaired from damage done in the April storm. They would be able to help you out and botany bay is a hell of a lot cheaper than pittwater or the harbour.

I do believe that would be David Eggins, work out of a factory in Taren Point. Does some exceptional work !

i am in the stainless steel game in Brisdane and I can tell you to make Pushpits and Pullpits is not a cheap exercise.As we all know nothing on a boat is square and to get the right shape the rails will require measuring, manufactured, more than likely two trial fits, weld off, Polish and finally fit. To do the above on just a small pushpit / pullpit will will take at least two days each, a total of 36 hours. Most metal shops will work on about $100/hr. Material will run into about $400. so the cost you will look at will be about $3600 + $400+ gst. A total cost of about $4,400.00. I would expect the price to be between $4,000 and $5,000. Hope this is of some help.

That's why buying secondhand makes much more sense. When buying make sure the vessel has a good pushpit and pullpit, or wait till suitable items come up for sale. Labour costs are a killer everywhere. There used to be kits with slip on and rivet or screw fittings but they have seemed to have disappeared.

Stella's pushpits and pullpits would be perfect. There was a very nice complete boat being given away in Sydney recently!

You could try tempo spars in Brookvale or buy the tube and get it bent at a muffler shop like I did and the fabricate the base plates but I did the welding and polishing. Ask around at the local shipwright's they may know a fabricator. I sold my lovely Folkboat, I miss the fun times I had in her.

Tempo spars are no longer in Brookvale. They now work out of Rozelle at the new marina under the Anzac bridge.
