I have checked out some interesting racing boards at the World Cup and all boards (production and customs) are going with 3 fins for 2012. (Airush proto got 5 fins option).
The 2012 boards have way more volume than 2010 and 2011.
I have taken some photos of boards.
The stand out production board was the North LTD 2012. A lot of riders at World Cup were using it. It is my fav so far.
