Need a seat, as aluminium tube aint too comfy!

So, I get my landsailer bits from my uncles hay shed, where it has been sitting dormant for 10 years.

Wheels, check. Chassis, check. Mast, check. Steering, check. Seat. . . . hmmm. No seat.

I wasn't really that fond of it anyway, given it was an old plastic school chair screwed to a piece of aluminium.

So I was thinking I might investigate the options of making one. Now given it will be a one off I was looking at fibreglassing techniques for one off projects and came up with foam sandwich.

Has anyone had any experience with using this technique and or fibre glass woven cloth? It looks to be relatively straight forward, but I'm not sure of what the finish would be like.

Adam.

My Next LeFroy Mini
G'day everyone. Just wanted to show off what dropped into my backyard over the weekend.

Brief Intro:
Build is hopefully going to be a relative quickie. Plywood seat like my first mini, solid 1" axles because I had the stock laying around (and the bearings to suit), slight mods to the plans (spot them where you can , why do it?) and the steering setup the same (close enough) to the plans.

Materials (so far): 60mm gal tube (fencepost), 35x35x2.0, 30x30x2.0, 1" round bar, 30x6mm flat and 25x3mm flat.

Reason to build:
Need a second mini yacht so others can come out sailing and enjoy themselves more, plus my girlfriend said she is willing to learn if I make her a green machine
