Ordered a 4.3 and 5 to be my upwind/downwind tool. I do not downwind shuttle much and only in strong wind will keep the 2.5/3.5 Frigates for that as they pack down well. 5m PR in the backpack as security.

I hope they are as good as the reviews say. What I like the look of is the collapse in offshore winds I saw Dimitry doing on his vid.

surprised you got the 4.3 and a 5m as if my memory serves me rightly LOL,remember you are in the 100kgs crew like myself seems the 5.7 and 4.3 be good combo especially for backup if wind lulls out,4.3 and 5 so close together.I ordered 5.7/4.3/3.0 really like my 5.5m frigate though learned get along with a big PW pretty well

Rob your cracking it there you just need more wind by looks of video hard to say by visual ofcoarse but my rule of thumb go FD or supfoil if below 16/17 kts forget it PW,the PW fun starts at 18kts if you can try a axis minidart 90/100L cheat code if you ask me but I'm bit heavier than you Lol 100kgs +

OP you might consider the Axis mini dart 70 or 80L at your weight can't say enough about the MD even though I'm in another weight class 100 kgs+ as you,but just got the 100L MD and it pretty much exceeded my expectations performance wise the way Frank designed the board for PWing really works with the extra vol in the nose really helps when getting on to foil especially for a heavier rider the nose resists pearling on takeoff and just so unsticky getting board speed going and lifting off Im like minus 5 for me with 100L and when I unpacked the MD at first glance was whoa don't think its gonna be a good fit at 6'4"X20.5X100L but it surpassed my first few tests in 18 to 25 kts+ performance wise, construction seems pretty stout for stock production board and weight is respectable for a 100L board. The MD should definitely be on your radar for a parawing board

Surprised not much out there on the mini dart or dart for that matter,as they seem sold out I actually have the 100L MD and at 105 kgs minus 5 so was bit concerned when i got it seemed a bit small for a heavier rider but have to say that the 100L MD rocks for a heavier rider it really gets up on foil super efficiently on parawing really stoked, seems like pretty solid construction so far.any other PWingers out there tried em out definitely recommend the MD really good board for PWing so far used it in 18 to 25 knots performs well

On the V2 windrange chart the new 5.7 was left out for some reason, looks good hopefully upwindability is still comparable with V1PR with lower aspect than V1
anyone tried one yet?

if true looks like the opposite of the Axis Frank mini dart PW specific which has more volume up front and less in tail, this new KT looks like way more volume in tail than the nose,or optical illusion LOl

All done with the Pyro. There are some elements to it that I can appreciate but after a few sessions I'm settled on saying it's not the right para for me.

Build quality is nice, everything seems well made.
Upwind angles are as good as any other.
Upwind speed was slower than the Pocket Rocket.
More durable than my Pocket Rockets.
Excellent redeploy.
Steers off the front lines great.
Canopy is nice packable material.
Leading edge collapsed for a split second in a gust on my first day with it.
The backpack bag seemed awesome for doing multi para missions.

Why it's not for me:
Low end and high end didn't line up with what I'm used to. I was experiencing similar low end of the 3.2m Pyro to the 3.1m BRM Paia. Friends were on sails a full size smaller than me. On the high end I wasn't as comfortable as I was used to. With the 3m Pocket Rocket in the same winds I would have been very confident hooking in and powering through the gusts. With the Pyro I consistently bore off downwind because the pull was too strong for my comfort. Hopefully anyone who buys the Pyro and has more time than I did with it will get better at managing the low and high end.

Too many A lines on retract for my taste. As I mentioned in a previous post above, there's 12 A lines that split into 36. When you collapse via the A lines your hand hits 12 knots and has to run over 48 sets of stitching, all at roughly the same spot. This hindered the retract for me and while doing a single reach stow on the beach was easy, doing it on the water required a 2 stage pull anytime the lines and my hands were wet.

While it wasn't for me for those reasons it seems to be well liked by many others. If you're interested in one I'd try to find a shop, buddy, or local rider to get a demo from.

Thanks for the review think Im gonna wait for the frigate V2 or PRV2 to come out for my high end PW probably a 3m or 3.5 at 100 kgs+probably get a little more range hoping

that's what I thought on visual, wow a lot going on there line wise wait for your report but first thing comes to mind is when I have a tangle lets face it happens sometimes for example with my frigates usually get them sorted fairly quickly, but the vayu looks like it could be another level sorting them out after a fall?but have to hear what you say after putting more time on it.that said looks like it is a very good flying PW

Rob I have the 4m frigate as well and agree 17kts needed for it pretty much,a suggestion would be to use a DW style board with a good sized wing underwater and if wind is crappy this time of year get a 5.5 frigate definitely helps me at 100 kgs Lol but a DW board gets up much easier in marginal conditions giving more quality time to tune things in.food for thought

Do you have experience from other brands and can compare to the Pyro?

Yes, can do. BRM Ka'a and Paia, Pocket Rocket, Hatch.

sure like to hear more about it had my eye on it 3.2m for higher wind days at 100kgs,one thing i noticed in pictures seems like bridals are bit more complex more lines than other top PWs out or is that my imagination? but sure like to hear your takes usual low-end/higher end/Upwind angles/ build quality canopy material lightness/packability/line quality/bar etc takes be great
