I know this is a MA1000 thread, but just had two excellent sessions on the MA1600 and the MA2000. Thought it will fit well in the conversation on turn-ability.
Yesterday afternoon, 25kn cross-shore, 2-3m Swell (powerful). Rode the MA1600 with the Wingsurfer mkiv 4.5m. What a combo. The turning of the MA1600 is ridiculous. And you can cut soo hard and tight to the point where you nearly stop and you stay up on foil, then it just accelerates on one pump = incredible.
This morning rode the MA2000 Paddling up on unbroken swells around the 2-2.5m range. Even with the suggested 310HA rear wing, the MA2000 turns on a dime, punchy lift that allows you to paddle up on the smaller slower bump in front, then pump around to the set behind and bomb it. A really controlled delivery of lift and again unmatched turning for such a big foil. My peak speed this morning was just short of 29kmh but more impressively my bottom foiling speed (mid ride, not at the end of start) was 11.3kmh, all staying on foil and controlled.
I think if you are into freestyle, proper surfing turns, instant power and fast recovery, the MA is definitely something that should have your attention. They are definitely something very different, so I suggest going into things with an open mind as there is nothing like them on the market. Think turning soo hard you'd normally purl and prepare for stun as the foil holds its shyte together and you pull off the tightest turns you've ever done!
Extreme bottom end, tight turning, punch, forgiveness and manageable wingspan for the power (freestyle, breach break surfing, tight aggressive surfing, jumping, hard turns) - MA
High speeds, effeciency, pump and glide (Racing, Downwinding, Pumping, Long cruising waves) - HA.

I have the ART 799,899 and 1099 which i like for many reasons but it is not the best foil for turning as hard as possible. I (90 kg and 186cm) confined myself to ride only the MA 1000 (Mast 85cm C35) for a certain period to accomodate my technique and was quite surprised. I got up in really light wind (as easy as with the ART 1099 - but with another technique (not via board speed but with the "classical" board pumping), had much less drag than anticipated and in open water (1m lake chop and open ocean) i clocked faster speeds on my garmin compared to the ART 899 (which is known to be not too slow) due to more control in chaotic waters. Of course it does not have the glide of the ART 899 and in flat water i can ride the ART faster. But the most fun part for me is that you can throw turns around easily in all waters fully in control at al speeds and jibes are a blast - probably the best foil for jibes i have ridden so far. And if , for some reasons, you loose speed, the stall speed is pretty low. And for me, by far not the most talented guy on earth, the "safe" tips while trying Flakas are nice too .
By the way, my wife (beginner) just made her first jibes (foil to foil) on the MA 1600.
Digging up an old thread here but saw a review of the Armstong MA range and the comment was made "The MA1225 rides bigger than it's size so would be like an HS1400 in size comparison. MA has more glide and lower stall speed than the HS."
I'm not sure about the more glide bit but was wondering if the Naish MA's were similar in regards riding bigger than it's size, ie MA1200 vs HA1400.
The Armstrong HS is more like a low aspect, so the MA can be ridden smaller and with that in mind the HA probably smaller still.
