Because they don't want a Tuttle and they don't want to wait forever for a custom Mikes mast with a plate. I know people who use the NL with ML, but I'm pretty sure they use Takuma head + Stringy adapter.

Great question. My first thought was that they might not have a tuttle box but then I realized that ML offers an adapter from tuttle to baseplate.

some people are using ML gliders for prone and SUP and want shorter plate masts for this application. also, seen a few ML masts break from jumping... dunno whether the NL masts are stronger in this application.
