Foil is a #Chubanga recently been winning both, mens and womens gold medals in Marseille at the olympic kitesurfing events.

Guys, got myself a Skybrid 85 liter before the holiday. Coming from a JP Xwinger 95. Weigh 80kg, and use Sabfoil M93, 869 with 375, or 899 with 425. Need some help. Despite very positive reviews I am not yet a fan. Before the holiday I tried some Groove boards (freestyle 85 and Gwave 85), and these felt spot-one with the Sabfoils, with amazing pitch control etc. I really could crank the turns. With the Skybrid I feel like I am balancing on the end of a springboard in the middle setting. I also have my feet before the front footstrap inserts. Putting the mast further back did hardly help. Maybe it's me but I totally lack the ability to really carve the turns. I don't feel in control like I expected. And the limited width doesn't help. Putting the track more to the rear made the springboard effect bigger, especially with pumping.... Putting it to 1/4 in the front somehow improved the handling, but it was more difficult to pump it on foil.... I don't know whats the deal. Maybe Sabfoils I have don't really work with the Skybrid. Don't know exactly what to do. Sell the board, and get a Groove board, sell the Sab and get Duotone foils, but I don't have a lot of money left this year to invest even more money....... Do people recognize that my Sab's are not working with the Skybrid? maybe other wings? all in all I am not happy as I expected. Low wind performance getting up is ok, but not the revolution I expected as well.... So really I don't see a lot of advantages at the moment... maybe it's just me

Hi!
I got a similar experience with axis art pro. Somehow the foil doesn't work that good with the Duotone. It felt like I couldn't carve that nice like normal with my ak phazer. Upwind quality also was nit that good. I got the 110l 5'10" phazer normally. Now tried the Skybrid 115l 6'0". Take off was crazy but after that everything felt weird. Like I got not the right conaction to the foil. Maybe it's placement problem of the foil. But also thought that it's probably necessary to use a shim on baseplate because it felt like it's draggy somehow and Angle isn't right. I recognize something similar trying an smaller axis Spitefire on an sky style. Maybe someone knows more about such problems using other foil brands on duotone ?

Hello,

been thinking about updating from a 95L Skywing but not 100% sure if it's going to be the 70L or 85L at 83Kg.

In the end i'd like it for now as one board solution. I might add a downwind/lightwind add some point if needed for sub 10kts.

Ive tried a 60L Omen Flux and was quite impressed with the low end and the general feeling. So thoughts are: The 70L Skybrid should be close to the 95L Skywing lowend?

May experience with the 70L 83-85Kg combo? Is really like to prevent having another pontoon as the main option.

I have the Skybird 70l and same weight as you. This is not a hard board to ride. I would think that it has earlier lift than the Skywing 95. The midlengths are lighter, accelerate quicker and dont stick to the water.
