I've never been to Mexico, so I hope this isn't a stupid question. Is it safe to drink coffee from the little coffee shops I've seen on Google Maps? I was really looking forward to having a coffee from a local shop, on the beach in the morning while I am there. I've been told, basically, if you didn't open the container yourself, that you shouldn't drink it.
I've had zero issues drinking coffee down there. I've never drank the water and never been sick. Some friends had tacos with fresh washed veggies on their last trip to Bucerias and ended up worshipping the chocolate throne for 3 straight days.
Choose wisely.
Good to know! I was looking forward to taking a walk and getting a local coffee and watching the sunrise while I was there. The information I was getting was bumming me out to be honest. We have a local "chef" hired to come make breakfast and lunch every day we are there. The other guys wanted her to do dinners too, but I want to experience some of the better local restaurants for dinner.
You shouldn't have any issues at established coffee shops around town, everyone uses jugs of clean drinking water and are well aware of our sensitive stomachs. Renaissance Coffee Box is worth checking out, it's right in the main drag on the way towards el sargento
