Looks to me like the Ka'a is the all around/surf specialist.
Kanaha is the upwind specialist.
Maliko 2 is the downwind specialist.

I still love riding it and is a great option still especially if you score a good used deal on one. Ka'a looks to dial everything I like up to 11. Can't wait to ride!

The Kanaha looks from the description to most closely align to this, and in general optimised to the way most people are going to want to use the PW. The difference between the Kanaha and Ka'a doesn't seem that big, 5% here and there, and they will probably both do everything well. Look forward to getting ride reports.

I mostly ride in place going upwind 1-2km so the Ka'a is perfect fit for me. According to the BRM info it does upwind better than Maliko V1 which works great for me. Same upwind angles as a wing and faster.
I would only go for the KANAHA if you're unwinding super far and covering multiple Miles/KM. Think users who drive 10km upwind out to sea to have a downwind session back.

This is how I see it anyway. My Ka'a is to be delivered on Thursday and I will have much more to say I'm sure.
As for duty and tax. I'm in Canada and it is covered by the price. Only additional cost is shipping.

I am heavier then you and will go Ka'a 6m then 4,8 and 3,6
It is supposed to behave better on the high end with the extra panels and thus extra bridle.
Maybe the profile and bar evolutions will make it work better on the low end, this is what the charts are saying, but I plan to use it more powered to size down board and foil if conditions are good.
Being overpowered is not a problem if you point a few degrees dw or if you stow or hold it.
More fun riding a smaller board/foil and holding more canopy in your hand IMO

What I'd like to know is does the Ka'a behave better that the V1 maliko which IMO did not for me with 5.1m it's wind range was very limited even at 100kgs so my thinking is the Kanaha might behave better in gusty conditions being a bit more high aspect but worried it will loose lowend which for me is important at 100kgs as I need the larger sizes maybe I'm better of going Ka'a like you to keep lower end as I'm not looking to go major upwind just a mile or 2 max but concerned that it might have similar handling characteristics of V1 maliko in larger sizes hard to say roll of the dice as no reports/reviews really out there,you must have some good wind and lighter weight to order a 3m I'd need 25-30 kts for a 3m Lol

Yes, super stable and super maneuverable. Haven't hit the top end of the Ka'a 2.9m yet but expect it to be good. I'm 87kg+gear and the Ka'a 2.9m works for me with the KT 7' 100L I'd say +13kts with bump assist.

Yes, 1050/152 on UHM 80cm. Mind you its swell assist to get up similar to SUP DW paddle up. I just use the parawing to get into position and have forward momentum and pump the board up when the right swell hits.

Still, that's a great report for maintaining flight at that wind speed. I'm pretty crafty with light wind starts and a wing but it's not easy to maintain flight at 13 knots with a 2.9m. Bravo.
Yesterday was 43 knots with a 2m and the silk 650 and I just kept thinking "kanaha or ka'a" the whole time I was out there ????

Ya, lots of pumping to get back out but no problem once on the swell.

Super pumped to get going learning this new twist to foiling. Just picked up a 3.6 Ka'a 2 days ago at which point, the trade winds completely died. Wednesday looks hopeful.

That's what I use at 93kg (Atlas 960). No problem with BRM V1 Maliko 4m in over 14 knots!

I was going to purchase the Ozone pocket rockets d/t their higher aspect which gives an edge with foiling upwind, and longer lines, which helps with bottom end power. Now BRM comes thru with the V2. Can anyone comment on comparing the ozone with the Kanaha in terms of upwind ability, ease of use (jibes/tacks), lower end power and wind range? Your insight would be appreciated.

I can't comment on the performance but I have the BRM Maliko 5.1 and I was stoked to get my Ozone 3m, until I saw the v2s released by BRM. I feel like Greg just leap frog the market again. The short bridles, small bar, and increased stability looks like the best option at the moment. That's not to say my Ozone is some how bad or even my Maliko. But the Ka looks like the best option for how I want to ride.
the downside I can see for Ozone is bar is large compared to BRM, and the fabric is thicker. So BRM will stow smaller

I agree, you can tell BRM is all in on Parawing. I got lucky and was able to cancel my Ozone order.

The v2 brm would have to be a quantum leap over the v1 in upwind and stable range performance to come close to a one wing solution for what most need.

Most of us just require upwind like a great lei wing, pull stability accross the wind range and good range with pump at the bottom end. Sound simple and like one wing to me.

Just check out the ozone in its tiny bag if you have question about the material and it's packing. Nothing at all like the flow or brm it seems. Keep in mind the v2 brm was developed without seeing the ozone so comments about parawing companies are just marketing.
It's great to love your brand but the improvements you guys are reporting just sound like catch ups to the flow stability, range and upwind with ozone going a lot better again.

I have the Ozone pocket Rocket 3m. I have not had enough wind to get on foil with it but I have flown it a few times now. It looks like a nice incremental improvement in stability from the Maliko so far though. The canopy is a heavier material than the BRM. It Is a 3m so it doesn't really matter, but it would make a difference in the larger sizes. The bridles seem thicker too. The bar is noticeably bigger than my Maliko bar, longer and larger diameter. It's more comfortable to use but larger to stow. The bag that the pocket rocket comes in is a joke. It's so small I will never use it. I just pack my two pws together in the BRM mesh duffle bag. Honestly all small issues but worth pointing out.

I think all the major brands pw designs will work for upwind/dw. Some will point slightly better than others. From what I have seen so far though I think the v2 BRMs have made nice improvements to the original design and over the current crop of parawings on the market.
V2 improvements:
-increased stability
-larger wind range
-Ka'a shorter bridles(this one is big)
-smaller bar(easier to stow and easier to trim)

And he level set with the marked leading edge and bridles although I never thought that was as big a deal as some make it. Bonus BRM has all their sizes in stock.
