My Custom took a while but is finally here. 6.4 x 20 x 4 7/8 = 85 litre, weighs in at 5.1 kg in the standard construction without inserts.
Happy with the result -still to get on the water.
That looks bloody amazing and I love the dims/weight congrats!
Can't wait to hear how it performs, what disciplines will you be using it for?
I ended up getting a reply to an enquiry I couldn't refuse and ended up ordering a custom Amos Cypher 6'6 x 21 @85L but built in the new lighter foam kevlar/carbon construction. It's a while off yet but I'll report back when I receive it.
Think they'll end up being very similar boards!
@BWalnut, yes it did arrive in a Armstrong Box
...My Pilot prone board arrived in a Duotone box so I was ready for anything....
@drc13, I am fairly new to parawing and have been using my Frank Mako 8.2 x 16.5 - 100l so looking forward to using the Coaster with a fair bit more width for Downwind Parawing. I also do a bit of Sup in the surf and think it will be great for that as well.
I will keep you both posted when I get onto the water
Any further reviews on the Coaster? I'm just getting into para winging and finding it really hard to get up on foil in marginal conditions compared to with my wing. Currently riding a board around body weight and I think it has exposed my poor board pumping ability and wondering if something with a little more volume will help.
The coaster looks like a knock off of the Frank mini darts. That design involves being able to sink the tail to set the intended direction, and supposed to help for initial stability. Thanks for posting.

Only seen the coaster in photos but the volume distribution looks a lot different than the mini dart which is much more nose volume biased. Could be a great board but not really seeing a lot of similarity other than basic dims.
Interesting take. I think they released around the same time and I think the coaster is a pretty natural extension of the other Marcus Tardrew shapes which are different from the Frank stuff.
Agree. I don't see much similarity.
You guys are right. Nose volume is indeed quite different. I've owned 3 Sunovas (DW Pro, DW Elite, Carver). In all cases, both durability and performance was next level.
Granted its ugly as sin, but my stock Carver's a brilliant wing/parawing daily driver, and the build has stood up to so much punishment boatlaunching and reef landings.
Carver length/width/volume distribution recipe just right for a neutral volume board - steady at rest but nimble as picking your way thru groundswell overlaid with big windswell.
Would love to test drive the Coaster, see if Ben's tweaks and that angled rockerline rear of the boxes [vs the flat-thru-tail Carver] improves takeoff enuf to justify upgrading
Life your best life and get a custom Pilot!
onya B.
any insight how that angled bottom aft of the boxes improves takeoff and/or touchdowns??

I've been quite pleased with the Pilot as a solid upgrade in that realm vs the Carver. I think the pilot releases far better when you clip a rail than the Carver or Aviator did, that's my favorite thing about it. Aviator would track, Carver would bog, Pilot just lets go.

thanks!......so with some miles on the Pilot, what neutral volume Sunova would you buy now, say if you were headed to La Vent or Fiji?

1. Pilot (best deck and rails)
2. Carver (great shape to hide volume)
3. Aviator (fastest on the water)
You might have to go custom to get neutral on the Pilot because that board is designed for prone so the volume doesn't reach a lot of peoples neutral.
How's the carver for durability so far for those who've put it to the test? Particularly those who SUP, paddle strikes to the rail - chipping of the resin? Love the shapes but find the factory resins they use as flaky as puff pastry
Sup with a carver is way beyond my skills but I've got 6500 kilometers wing and para between the two carvers I've had and there hasn't been any issue with the finish.
Why dont u buy rail tape if you're worried.
Railtapped all my boards but unfotunately it doesnt cover every inch of the rails.
