The guys that have formed the budding Inverloch Windsurfing Club are heading out west to catch up with the Point Henry sailors on either 22nd or 23rd August - weather permitting. Meeting point etc will be confirmed a little nearer the time - OB64 suggested the McDonalds on the way into Geelong. If anybody has any other suggestion for brekkie - then please post it.
Also be good to catch up with the guys who've been sailing down at Rye recently etc, - so stick it in your diaries. One of us will post the night before to confirm whether or not we're definitely going.
OB64 has agreed to post some maps/runs with rigging points etc.
I am looking fwd to meeting all our eastern cousins. ![]()
Today we sailed at Swan Bay on a northerly and it seems like it will be a great spot when there is a decent wind. We pretty well have all wind directions covered. So as long as its blowing more than 12 knots - we are all set.
Yes we might have some potential at Swan Bay to unfold yet
, but we know that Point Henry works, so look forward to sailing with all you guys that come over our way in a couple of weeks![]()
Red and I have both sailed the Point without weedfins so dont be too concerned if you dont have one.
We can point out the weed beds and then have a good laugh as you fall off after hitting the only one we forgot to tell you about ![]()
Well the Inverloch crew have been talking about this for almost 12 months now so it will be good to catch up.
A big well done to Croweman, OB64 and Red for putting this together. It would be great to back them up with a big show
East meets West - De'tente
Drift - that is if the wife lets you go after your last purchase. Has she taken the knife to you yet or have you hiden them all? Are we going to see blood on this new board?[}:)]
Hey Jodi - perhaps we could have world peace if they got the world leaders out windsurfing as the " confidence building measures"
Hey Windybee - all and sundry are invited including everyone of your alias's. I liked Konasurfing the best though![]()
It's not pretty, but I actually stole her garage remote yesterday..just to give me a few days breathing space!.
Still, all scars should be healed by the time we venture out west!
And I thought I was the one with problems Mick...I'm enjoying your predicament from afar...think the Germans call it schadenfaude.
I should have taken your advice Crowie...maybe a little bit of furniture shopping followed by some browsing for fabrics....then a quick stop off @ SHQ on the way home....might have got me more "leverage" but no, it didn't really pan out that way.
(PS And as if there isn't enough of a predicament, it wasn't windy enough to get the new board wet!)
Still, I did manage a good session in yesterday but really can't wait to hear a report about your weekend...how hardcore did it get??
I have been thinking that perhaps we should have some fun events ie. a drag race over say 500m / 1km, best jump/trick etc?
Obviously this will depend on the conditions on the day.
Any ideas?
Looking forward to this......hope the conditions are right. Cheers Croweman and others for putting in the effort to get this happening.
OB64 - Thinking about falling off. I don't need to even think about it, it just comes naturally.
Drift - shall I wear the leopard skin dress with the pink nails or flouro green nails? What do you think? High heels or wetsuit booties? COBBY - your fashion sense is needed here.
Just got back from holidays and Pat told me about the weekend. Look forward to it to finally put faces to names (and not to mention not have to listen to Pat's dribble!!!!!)
The point will work in practically anything but it works best with anything with a bit of west in it. Straight west is bliss. You can sail off the point itself and practically any wind - but for thw record..
Connewarre - SE, S, SW and E if your desperate
Point Henry - SW, W, Nw
Barwon Heads, NW, N
Swan Bay N,NW
Point Richards, N, NE
Indented Heads, , NE, E...
Connewarre, and the Point are the main hangouts...
