So we dont hijack Geoffs WSSA comp thread -

We hope to head down Friday and we're keen to go for a bit of drive down the coast to Pilchardville one day for a bit of a surf search. There is a half a dozen already heading down

What do you all think?
Who's going and to Quote Pete
Hi Guy's
We're still keen to get into the Beachport October longweekend!
The October longweekend at Beachport has been a lot of fun for many years and we've had some great competitive and social sailing. The event started out a speed sailing and racing event and grew to include wavesailing and SUP.
My thoughts are to make the weekend a social wave, speed and sup get together!
The social element of the Beachport comp in my opinion is really what it's all about. I'm keen to hear everyones thoughts and Onboard and myself are stoked to support the weekend with tents, beers, BBQ's etc!
Is anyone keen to help run the weekend? Are we happy to have a Social Windsurfing and SUP weekend at Beachport and just run a comp if the conditions suit?
Keen for everyones thoughts...

Cheers Pete - ONBOARD SURF

We all booked in

Social sounds good to me,

We are heading down for the Friday as well to make a loooong weekend of it,

Bluetrooopy, plenty of accomodation options in Beachport, personally we take the easy way out and rent a house, but two caravan parks as well as camping out on the spit if you really keen (bring own everything)

Heres hoping for some good surf and some wind!

Does anyone know the status of Lake George at the moment?

Is there plenty of water in it or is it a good walk out to deep water?

We are hauling butt down there friday morning and then hoping for an early session saturday but after that it may be a little bit quiet...

Jimbob reports water is right up on the Lake. Apparently a very short walk to sailable depth.

Very dark that I can't make it this weekend. Y'all enjoy yourselves. But not too much.

Don't even bother with the woakwine cutting entrance as it will be crap there with any west in the wind, actually it will be crap there anytime, the spit is really the only place in a westerly but with the lake being full at the moment and the weed low because of the colder water it is also choppy as its cross shore at the spit and you cant run the bank. you can also sail out from shelly beach just drive in at the 3 mile camp sign turn right and go to the point on the end it is cross shore here also but choppy as well.

there will be some water to drive through around the 5 mile drift area if going out to the spit but nothing seriuos just go slow and no probs.

sailed 5 foot off along the spit last week in a north with a 36 fin it's was knee deep five foot out on the big lake side.

Really looks better in the surf as west is a great direction for there so thats where i'll be as speed days for me can wait till summer and some flat water.

see ya friday after work Dave.

Thanks for the heads up Jim! I went to the cutting over Easter and the mud was slop for way out. I was questioning if we would go there at all.

I have been out from 3 mile before so that sounds good but we also have a kite surfer in our group so the spit maybe better for us even though it's choppy!

Will see you out there Dave probably on Sunday for a quiet learning day. Will probably go to the spit for some calm flat water cruising on the big boards.

See you out there!

Luke..
