Don't even bother with the woakwine cutting entrance as it will be crap there with any west in the wind, actually it will be crap there anytime, the spit is really the only place in a westerly but with the lake being full at the moment and the weed low because of the colder water it is also choppy as its cross shore at the spit and you cant run the bank. you can also sail out from shelly beach just drive in at the 3 mile camp sign turn right and go to the point on the end it is cross shore here also but choppy as well.
there will be some water to drive through around the 5 mile drift area if going out to the spit but nothing seriuos just go slow and no probs.
sailed 5 foot off along the spit last week in a north with a 36 fin it's was knee deep five foot out on the big lake side.
Really looks better in the surf as west is a great direction for there so thats where i'll be as speed days for me can wait till summer and some flat water.
