You've made my day
I've had one sail since March, and all of a sudden this weekend is becoming booked aswell.

Life gets in the way doesn't it?

Ditto, 1 boy & 1 girl. And if you do go sailing there is this guilty little conscience telling you that you should be riding a bike with the kids or something. So you do the right thing, pack up early and go home... and when you get there everybody is asleep.

why why why why why why why why why did this not happen yesterday.

40 knots is out of my league, both gear and skill, anyway
C'mon Sunday (morning).

looks like rain might stop here in an hour looking at the rain radar. will try and head down to train after it eases if water has moved off our road.

BOM is reporting 63 kts gust for GC Seaway. Meanwhile here in Brisbane where I'm writing a committee agenda (oh joy) there's just a gentle breeze.

Crazy weather.

i've had some windy days at wello, but that was by far the windiest i've ever sailed got-smashed in. took me 5 minutes just to get from the joggingpath to the water's edge with my gear

the trees have multiplied in the park, if you didn't know better you'd swear the council had just gone around and planted small shrubs everywhere and anywhere

hoping for a gentle 40 knots for tomorrow

Heaps overpowered on a 4.4 but the biggest problem was to keep the board in the water.
A 60liter glass board and a 2.5meter sail would have been nice.
I am glad i gave it a go.

60 knots constant would be bare pole on a water ski and still knock you flat....

It was a very solid 50 at Wello for a short while around 11.30 and I was glad I had come off the water. I was having enough trouble holding it together in the gusts on the 5.4.

Brad and Simon were out on speed boards and slalom gear, a 6.0 and a 5.1 respectively. I did see Brad fairly out of control in a serious bit of tail walking at one point but generally they were well locked in and flying along. The highlight was Simons back loop, pretty brave/nuts on a speed board and fully cambered sail. Looked good though.

Looks like we are in for some more fun over the next few days. The hole in my hand isn't going to help much, shows how little sailing has been happening lately.
