Well folks, its been a real hoot this last month, hope all members and friends got their fill of the sou-easters over easter. I know the usual crew that hit Bundy were treated to some great conditions - myself included
.
As many of our members know around this time of year we celebrate all things windsurfing with a nice meal and a quiet evening of reflection, with possibly a shandy or two
So once again Bayside Sailboard Club will hold its annual dinner / ball / gathering on Saturday the 28th May, at the Moreton Bay Sports Club. Tickets will be $25.00 and will be available for pre-purchase only from Bayside Sailboard Club in the next week.
An email will be sent to all members, but if you are not a member and want to come along contact the club at info@baysidesailboards.com.au.
The evening will include the club presentations, as well Windsurfing Queensland will be holding the presentations for the State Slalom Titles.
Keep an eye on the forum and your email for more information as it comes to hand.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

We invite you to celebrate the end of another great year of racing, the near misses, and the downright catastrophes at the Annual Bayside Sailing Club Ball.
It is a great opportunity to bring along your better halves and show them that we do function outside of our wetsuits and do scrub up just nicely thank you.
This year we will be heading to the Moreton Bay Sports Club on Saturday the 28th May, kicking off at 6.30pm.
Ticket prices are $25.00 per head and will be available through the Bayside website in the coming week.
Just got the call from the chief financial controller who is still sorting out some last minute sponsors for the night. Looks like there will be some sweet lucky door prizes.
As usual the committee is finalising how to best identify and commend those sailors who have brought something unique to the season - some by talent, but most by sheer entertainment
.
Seriously though, these evenings are by far the best evenings with great company, tall stories and lots of laughs. If you have never joined us before then now is the time to come along - you will not regret it.
Great stuff guys, we will be there with bells on. The better half has been asking if there is a dress code (if Bart is going back to the Whickam he may need some suggestions also).
I just got a heads up from the chief organizer that, not only will windsurfers get lucky on the night but so will their other halves.
Not really sure what she meant by this but it sounds bloody good![]()
I hope they have a chin up bar set up for us again this year! I've been training and this year I reckon I've got Leo's measure.
Only a week left to get in for the tickets for the ball folks.
Give Si at board crazy a call to sort it out.
There are some great prizes up for grabs, a chance to see the winners take home some pots and one or two "alternative" awards for those who stood out in their chosen field this year.
Comb your hair, bring along your better half and show them a good time that doesn't involve them sitting on the beach watching you sail.
See you on the night.
So we are on the home stretch. Have you got your tickets? Sorted your table? We are not designating seating, so if you want to cuddle up to your bestest bud then you'll have to sort yourself out on the night. If you want to invite friends then by all means do so. We are a social mob and believe in the more the merrier, so non club members are welcome to join us in the fun and frivolities of the night - that includes you lot down the coast.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
D
I will be driving up after work so I can fit two more Gold Coasters in but i will have to pick you up from Oxenford. Please PM me if you want a lift.
BTW, what is the dress code?
does anybody else want to catch the "courtesy" bus from Manly ??? apparently they'll only pick up from one address and you have to be a member of the club to use the service. But they will do a pick up even if you're not ...?wtf ???![]()

is it too late to get involved?
surely not - us windsurfers have to be ready to go whenever the conditions are right - and they just got right for me:)
hey rich,
they will do a pick up run at 6pm. there are a few of us wanting to use it so, email me you number and i'll arrange it.
boardboy,
send me your details through pm include your mobile no please. i'll check to see if we can add anymore, we will have to check with catering and get back to you.
cheers darryl
oh what a night. i think someone put beer in my drinks.....ouch!
Firstly i would like to thank Angie for organising the whole shebang. As many would agree she did a cracking job, and to be honest had it been left to me to organise we would have had beer and chips in the park.
It was great to see everyone get a little dressed up and let their hair down, and from some of the feedback it seems like everyone had a great night.
As per any function like this a special mention has to go out to our supporters for the night. they were in no specific order

Not wanting to show a bias, but a special mention has to go out to Simon Fyfe from Board Crazy, who after a few shandies got into the swing and gave away a new SUP![]()

That was a complete surprise to the organisers and an incredibly generous gesture. From now on it seems the best way to get a deal at Board Crazy is to turn up with a bottle of Bourbon and see where it leads
.
Furthermore it was great to see our very own Richie (aka Johnny Cash) Fish croon with the band.
In wrapping up thanks to all that came for making it another fantastic night, and here is looking toward a great season for 2011/12. Now i need a bex and a good lay down
