thanks to all once more. it was a very late call but that saw a good sized crew turn up to celebrate.
the day started with the first 2 and a bit hours spent standing in the rain. ![]()
i boldly adviced a couple of guys "rig as small as you have, the wind is coming, not long now"
about 2 hours after saying that tony ventured out on his 7m to dredge around.
finally the wind filled in, 5.3-5.8 all round and plenty of wind for all. 45 minutes later, rain followed by a drop in the wind.
the bbq was fired up and right on cue the wind filled back in, a couple of us shared a beer and cooked up the grub. then more sailing was on the cards.
by late afternoon the wind was again easing and the tide receeding so another bbq was had along with the xmas presents and the lucky draw.
congrats to Vando for winning the gun sails mast bag! Vandos first win in 3 years of wanderers.
i left around 7, it was dark, and there were still 5-6 people under the gazebo sharing a tale.
cheers to all and a happy xmas new year! it's great to get out on the water so early in jan and get some sailable conditions.
