It's time again for the wanderers to head to North Kirra for some fun in the "surf" and enjoy a bbq under the trees followed by a beer in the surf club!
Thanks again also to the team at SurfFX for getting behind the club and it's members. The Kirra meet has become one of the prermanent meets on the calendar.
date has been set for Sunday, 20th of September.
as with all wanderers meets i will keep everyone updated regularly and the meet will be dependant on wind.
for those that still need membership forms just drop me a pm or email and i'll get some off to you.
Kirra for those new to the venue is one of the better places to head into the surf for the first time. it usually provides small waves and a forgiving launch at high tide. for those looking to push their skills that bit further low tide will throw up some bigger waves on the outer banks.
hope to see everyone there.
regards
JB.
Oh noes... I suddenly have to work that Sunday too. I bet the wind turns out really, really awesome. Damn it.
Hi Sqilary,
yes, it is a sad thing. the graphs are indeed looking very tragic and that is now the prediction for the entire weekend and into monday.
i guess at this stage i will have to leave the final call until tomorrow.
if we postpone, which at this stage is looking likely, we will look towards next weekend.![]()
forecast is looking ordinary predicting 5-10 knots tomorrow.
based on this we will postpone to the following weekend. i will post during the week to keep everyone up to date. either saturday or sunday are up for grabs.
cheers.
JB.

well i guess everyone is aware of the maps.... ![]()
small surf with strong NW all day. that really is north Kirra perfection.
as in the earlier posts the plan is still the same with the final call tomorrow around 5pm.
i also wanted to remind everyone that any members of the basyside club and the wave club are of course very welcome and encouraged to join in and share the fun.
also any potential new members are also welcome. come along and check out the club. we are a social non competitve bunch of like minded wind addicts that have a like for bbq's.
our events occur between southern gold coast and burrum heads at speed, bump and jump and small wave locations.
fingers are crossed.......
cheers
JB
being school hols, i'm pretty sure the swimming flags will be setup near the surf club and down near greenmount. the lifesavers have never given us grief (that i'm aware of) and would be nice if we could give them a wide birth where possible
though it's not really a busy place for swimmers anyway
windxtasy,
always welcome.... ![]()
haircut,
yep, good call.
usual beach manners apply, do NOT sail between the flags. ie, give the swimmers right of way, and if a cluby asked you to move then please follow their lead.
as haircut has mentioned, we have never had any issues in the past. ![]()
GODDAMNIT. I booked myself in to do a senior first aid course that runs from 8:30am to 4:30pm for tomorrow.
you can all thank me later.
