What??!!!??!! 30+ knots. I seem to remember a 4.7 somewhere in my past.
I will have to do some archaeology in my garage to find it.

my small gear is waiting......

i will keep an eye on the swell though as 6m will mean mast+ waves which is to say the least way beyond our level and probably total closeout conditions.

Sounds nice, but I will be at MR for two weeks, looking good so far with wind and waves.

Gesty, looking forward to the next meet. Does Mooloolaba have a shallow area for beginners? just got my missus into windsurfing (there is a god) and shes pretty keen to get out next weekend.
PS where is the 'golden pond'

hi lee,

mooloolaba is ocean/surf/swell conditions so not good for beginners. especially with a mast hi surf running.

caloundra is perfect for beginners.

hi oli,

no worries mate, enjoy MR, p.s. is that Margaret RIver?

scully,

just don't sleep with it!

forecast,

i expect the forecast to be be completely unpredictable and changing all of the time. what the forecast is trying to predict is the location of Ex tropical cyclone Olga which is currently in the southern area of the gulf.

"Depending" on what happens

it is either forecast to move down through inland qld flooding the whole way and then crossing the coast again somewhere near bundaberg or south australia.

there is so much going on who can tell what wil happen.

we will wait till closer and make a call as per usual routine>

sounds like fun, i've always wanted to try out golden pond, looks like it may be a challenge to get a park if the weather is sunny, and i'm thinking of the right spot.

i'll bring the 75L newwave for anyone who doesn't have a small board

hey mate, if the wind is up then your welcome to catch a lift with me. Might be a bit short on space thou, but let me know if you don't get a better offer.

Mooloolaba on 4-6mtr is..well challenging to say the least.
Just getting off the beach is a mission at times.
Have had some epic sails in 3-4mtr.. and some not so epic ones as well
The Problem lies in the break is very inconsistent in where it will peak.
Having spent many years riding mals and surf ski's on the cyclone swells when they arrive in the bay, you can get one wave that will not break untill the beach, then the next is a foaming beast that rolls in from 250mtr out with a full head of 6ft thick white water rushing at you.... very good for the adrenal glands at times , and you definitely get to improve your breath holding technique.

OK, lets have some fun now on Sunday

we will see what the weather brings. if the swell is massive we'll go the pond regardless of wind direction as it is near on impossible to get out through the shorey.

Where does one find a swell report?

Never mind I found one here -
http://www.swellnet.com.au/loc_report.php?region_id=18&state_id=1

There's no swell to speak of.

Hi Dave,

i think the swell will be bigger than what swellnet is saying if the wind kicks in early.

are you thinking of hitting some waves?

No, Its "snags" or "snoggers" over here in the deep north. I prefer the snogging analogy to the fishing one.
In fact the fishing analogy eludes me altogether. (Like a lot of things)
