I hear a rumour that Vando is about to take part in the biggest windsurfing race in the world? any truth to it? If so we need updates. I have seen some video footage of previous years and it looks absolutely awesome. Very jealous!

Clearly as the sole Bayside sailboard club representative Vando, you will be promoting the club and upholding the high standards that Leo has set at major race events.

Yes he's over there indeed, among 800 others !! (including A2, bringdal, maynard, questel, and Van der ...)

they're starting tomorrow, wind blowing 25/30 at the moment.

Think he's training with the lloft team as we speak...

Apparently this is called a gate start. looks awesome! My simple brain cannot explain how the guys at the top dont get an advantage, if all you have to do is pass behind the boat??

Best of luck Vando! I am living my life through you at the moment, oh and the 22 year old french exchange student we have in our office!

Bart, The guys out wide starting first have to point a lot harder than the guys towards the beach i.e. wait a little longer for the rabbit start and have a broader (and faster) run than those starting earlier. Out wider would also be choppier the further you're away from the shore (off shore winds). There's a great explanation on the P7 website point-7.com/

PS - the 22 year old french exchange student - What's his name?

I knew you would have read that somewhere Hoops, way to clever for you. It will be interesting to see which way Vando goes, he is pretty good upwind, but also very quick off the wind. I guess the other advantage of starting further out (and in front) is the air should be a bit cleaner??

Would be hard to resist the broader run and flat water from next to the shore.
