Richie,
Are those green squares east of the rock wall submerged shipping containers full of phosphate? Also would like to see an oil slick and some dead birds on the diagramme.

answers. 1. we may have to paint the start boat (to avoid confusion)
.............2.Esky goes on rockwall for easy access
.............3.green squares are the barrier of the no go zone for the spectator fleet.
(there will be no big yellow arrow to show wind direction)

toxic waste, dead sealife, crab pots, oil slicks, and shipping containers, shall be marked with isolated danger beacons.

and, yes I had had a few beers before I drew the picture.

Well the wind is in and the forecast looks the goods.

Looking forward to some great racing tomorrow. Just a note to get down early to grab a good park and could all those with trailers park their cars away from the rigging areas.

See you on the water.

12-13 knots from the south, lots of sun and heat. All looking good for the states today. (update - Sammy Bowman just called to say he is at Manly and it is blowing 20 knots. He is a pretty reliable source so I'm shoving in some smaller gear in the car...

About to head off to register, just a quick call to Mum to say sorry but I may be physically absent from her 70th but I will definately be there in spirit... I'll be the one with the black eye.

I would apologyze for not having any sail numbers and registred late today... I know it's bad.
By the way, the day was really good with a lot of fun at the jibe. Perfect wind!
Congratulation for the organisation and for Vando.

The results are up on the Bayside site http://www.baysidesailboards.com.au/results.html. Must have been a late night or an early morning for Simon to collate all of the results. Good work mate, I was having trouble keeping my eyes open at 9.00pm.

By the way - damn you Darryl.

Hey Scot,

Funny how battling it out for the also ran places still puts a smile on your dial. With the amount of pain I'm in at the moment I know I did something yesterday.

This season we have definitely seen Vando step up from last year. The new equipment or its the challenge of some serious competition that has brought the best out in him.

A big congrats to Mark Mikanovic also. Many seem to forget that we have 2 slalom classes only separated by gear restrictions. Mark as he has done all season pretty much hosed the 88 fleet. The thing that sucks is he was on a 5.8m and 110 slalom. I need to go on a serious diet.

Overall this season, we have seen some of the biggest racing fleets in SEQ for the last 5 years or so. And the amount of interest the club has generated should see a continued growth. By the way guys are already planning their respective assaults on next season..... all I can say is watch this space There may even be off season training involved

A reminder to all that the presentation dinner is Sat 30 May. Tickets will be available soon. There will be door prizes on the night, and maybe some light entertainment - we need to mikey to strut his stuff on the dance floor

See you all there.

Geez, given how Gary is going in the waves, after this weekend he may get called the overall state champion, PWA style.

Well done GK.

thanks again to the bayside club and especially the guys and girls who man the start boat on race days, not an easy job! Had an absolute ball in my first season of slalom racing and already looking forward to next year. Can highly recommend it to those who might be sitting on the sideline.

ps re the dinner, is there a dress code? can I wear my green shorts?

There will be a bit of alchohol about and some of the girls may not be able to contain themselves. I'm not sure it is entirely advisable...

PS: Good work on beating Chris, I imagine he was all excuses about his little bike ride in the morning etc etc...

El Barto, no dress code,(you can wear any dress you like) but no thongs or singlets after 7pm.
