What time to you suspect the jibing thing to start on sat and the racing to end on sunday? how big is the camping ground? is it worth prebooking a place or just rocking up?
cheers
there is a wedding at the lake this sat, which has sucked up most of the accomodation - and it is likely that the camp ground will be the only option left. I would give them a call.
Jibe clinic will not start til the arvo, and racing will be finished by 5 on the sunday.
Whats so bad about the camp ground, its awesome. You can have all of your gear rigged right next to tent. Last time i went up there i managed to sail from 6am to 6pm with an hour break for lunch. Now that is the best Gybing practice![]()
Luke, There is absolutely nothing wrong with the camp ground. Just letting everyone know that the accomodation for saturday night will be tight as it seems to be a busy weekend at the lake.
Hope too see all there - maybe the forecast will hang a day or 2 and we can have some more good winds![]()
Well the forecast is looking phenomenal
. We had excellent conditions last year and this year is looking to go off in a similar fashion. There must be something good when the brissy crew head north, it seems to bring the wind
.
The jibe clinic should start around 2'ish on saturday. And remember the pub sat night.
See you all there.
is it recommended to book a place at the camp ground?
I noticed on the Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club's website in the accomodation section the Boreen Point Camping Ground is listed as "no bookings"
JP
We rocked up there last year and got a place without an issue.
Not the best facilities in the world but really close to the pub and you won't get better real estate for windsurfing. Fall out of your tent and you will get wet hair.
Give them a ring. Link attached.http://www.noosa.qld.gov.au/AboutNoosa/CaravanCampingFacilities/BoreenPointCampingGrounds.shtml
See you up there mate.
Si
34 knots forecast for late Saturday arvo! should make for an interesting gybing session! I think the wave board will be coming with me!
see you all up there.
Scot - that hurts, probably true though.
Looking at the forecast - saturday night seems to be getting bigger, better start practicing your pool and 80's karaoke
. Still may need the vomit receptacle for sunday - mind you last year it was the big guys that did not fair to well.
I think i might have jinxed it, looks like the forecast has already changed a fair bit. Hopefully the wind gods will come through for us! If not the pub has the best jukebox in oz.
Plenty of whitesnake! might have to bring the leatherpants.
It blew about 30 knots last night and now its dead calm. Hopefully we get the NW forecast for this afternoon. Rain has stopped and the sky is clearing.
No idea richie. Got upthere friday night the wind was blowing 30kts+. Felt a bit crook in the guts at midnight..... in hospital by 2 am with acute apendicitis
and had surgery 2 pm saturday. Home in bed now for the next few days. At least its not windy.
Dam..... some people will do anything to get out of doing the breakfast dishes and packing up the tent.. ![]()
sounds like fun.
Sorry I missed the fun.[}:)] Yes Scott, I really believe YOU were the sensible one HA !..![]()
