Has the October 23 event been removed from the season calendar?
I have it on a print-out from september but noticed it was gone from the calendar on the website today when i was searching for the NOR.
yeah looks like 9-10 knots - i would have been keen to get out on a big board and slog around the course.
i guess 'At 1.00pm we will be running course racing (with upwind bias) for any club members who have light wind gear, this will have no bottom wind limit within reason (IE dead calm we wont race)' doesnt mean what i thought!![]()
Well I've a new 11 that needs some more tuning, so I'm heading to Wynnum anyway. It works pretty well in an Easterly on a low tide, it's just a bit of a walk out with a 70 cm fin. Once deep enough though there's no bar to get in the way like off Manly.
This season is looking very familiar - same start as last year. No northerlies and bizarre southeasters and late season southwesters. Looks like the bike and SUP will be getting some work this summer.
My predictions.
Saturday----Black Caviar.
Sunday------Sausage Sizzle.
Sunday wind-----10-12kts east.
Also big yacht race on the bay this weekend. Manly hotel St Helina Cup with 130 starters. Worth a look.
Course racing is on tomorrow at rqys if anyone is interested in joining in. 2 races 1.30 start casual entries welcomed isnt restriced to rsx and techno any gear is ok
Course racing is also on on Sunday at Lake cootharaba Sailing club. one race at 11am and second race at 1.30 pm. all welcome to join us.
Bugger, I can't make either of those.
Tony, can any board class race in the regular LCSC races? We're planning on spending a few weekends up there over summer and it would be sweet to add a few races in too. Ta, H.
Edit:'all welcome' probably answers my question ![]()
No class restriction. We sail with the dinghies. The course is upwind downwind so you will need a board with upwind capability to complete the course in reasonable time. The main purpose is to have fun so it doesn't really matter if you don't complete the course anyway.
