A big thanks to Simon for getting the longboards underway. He was very short handed with a few guys interstate so it was a bit more off the cuff than the usual highly organised events but it looked like you all had a pretty good time of it (Apart from the last few minutes when Simon tested his fin to destruction on the reef, the things you do in the name of research...)

A big thanks to the longboarders for coming along also, we hope to see you all again in future meets.

Looking forward to Tribies Go Pro footage when it blew in.

How did the Phantom compare to the formula gear? Also, what was the wind like?

The course was up wind - return the formula gear was thw quickest then the rsx and then me on the phantom 295 , then the bics there was a couple of rxs and formula behind me. On that style of course the formula is always going to have the edge . Put a closr reach on the course and it might even thing up a bit .

The wind was all over the place in both direction and strength. I made the gross error of changing up to 11.0 - I was catapult central on a beam reach from Green to King (headed to the wrong mark initially). It taught me a whole lot.

It was great to see how many are keen, even with depressing weather, for an informal race. Looking forward to exploring more formal and different course options (shorter to start with ). <Puts hand up to help/>

Perhaps we should mark the end of the wall too
