Amazing afternoon of racing today. We were tempted out earlier by a light easterly that died off quickly. But our patience was rewarded just after 2pm when a big westerly came through. Everyone scrambled for their gear, with no idea how strong it was out there. The first race had some massive 25-30 knot gusts that tested even the top sailors. Race 2 was a bit lighter but still some meaty gusts.

Thanks to everyone who came and persevered over the weekend while waiting for the wind.

Please email me a copy of your track files from today. send me a seabreeze message if you need my email address.

Cheers
James

Myall lakes GPS was a unreal weekend I love this spot and had so much fun with the kids and also catching up with every one.
Also good we got some wind late today and got 2 races in shame some people had to leave early.
Gusting over 30 knots to windy for the 7.7 just an unreal place to sail and chill out with 26 competitors and there families.
I had the best time and want to come back here with the family as well as sail.

Nice photos Muz shows how windy it was.
The big thing for me is that I do love speed sailing but sometimes we get fixated on 2 sec and forget about the experience.
This weekend was all about the experience. It was so good having so many windsurfers and families being together and yep not bad sailing as well.
Thanks every one.

Hi James, curious as to how Byron finishes ahead of Walshy even though the combined average of Steve's times are better than Byron's?? I get they finished on the same points but surely Steve wins on countback?

I asked James the same question. Here is his reply:

(From the International Sailing Federation Rules 2013-2016)
SERIES TIES
If there is a series-score tie between two or more boards, they shall be ranked in order of their best excluded race score. If a tie remains between two or more boards, each board’s race scores, including excluded scores, shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the board(s) with the best score(s). These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores. If a tie still remains between two or more boards, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boards’ scores in the next- to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Increadable a tie for first and tie for third shows how close we are.
I thought Steve may have won I new he kicked but in race one he was more in control than any one else. And a credit it to you mate with sore arms.
We have a sailing instruction document which was posted on the white board so we do have the rules set out. This includes as stated using these official countback rules.
Congratulations to everyone who sailed and was part of a great weekend away.
Russ very impressive results consistency pays off.
A special mention to Andy his first GPS event and a tie for third with the likes of Remi and Murray.
