Hey I was calling "windy" for the Lancelin Ocean Classic from a month beforehand and that came through!

I would actually like to see you Mandurah Boys do a little downwinder through the slop to Peli Pt with us, you know weaving through the ferries, tornado cats, cruisers, water skiers and other assorted pleasure craft - immerse yourself in the experience that is the Swan!

We don't do Chop

just bring sausages then...

Further to my earlier suggestion about a little drag r....sorry, ahem, a "voyage" down the river on Saturday arvo - how about this course?

I reckon we all start in the shallows at the end of Pt Walter with a "ready...set..go" and then burn across 4.7km of Melville Water to Melville Beach (where Dee Rd meets Melville Beach Rd).

No turns (just for you Elmo), just a good easy little broad reach. We could do it a couple of times if it works well.

Who's in?

Not if you sail directly behind Slowboat, and sit maybe 50cm off his tail. You would just need to overtake him in the last 50m to take the prize.

Its located at Honour Ave in Bicton or burke Drv, Attadale. Straight down Stock Road to the very end.

Please note. The car park to the left (NW) of the tea rooms (near the jetty) is free. Both upper and lower levels. On busy days cars also park on the roadside opposite the upper car park and don't seem to be ticketed.
However the carpark to the right (east ) of the tearooms is a fee/pay carpark.

If you are planning to sail on the bar after then it would be best to drive up Pt Walter road as the right hand side of the point is in a complete wind shadow and is where the water-skiers and jet-skis hangout.

Great BBQ! Thanks again to everyone.

I'd also like to report that the Swan River Mob's Tim Stockton was the winner of the race across from Pt Walter to Melville Beach.

I know this because, though he may not even have finished yet as I type this, he was the only participant. This was forced upon him, even though there was no breeze, as Melville Beach was where he had arranged to be picked up! He was last seen travelling in a Melville Beach direction at a velocity of approx. 3 knots, ankle deep in water.

So a big congratulations to Tim!

I can confirm he made it! JUST
Congrats Tim.

The only problem was his mum turned up about the same time and some knucklehead, no names mentioned Nilss, sent her away as he had not been sighted, not by Nilss anyway.
No-one asked me if I had seen him
