Nah, they are right. He did spend most of his life in Tenerife, but he was born in Germany.

They nearly spelled his name right.

Ignant peeps.

Even bigger, that looks to be after his peak height as it appears to be a stalled forward...

70knots is inconceivable for us mere mortals.

You can see how hard it is to just jump, with the board buffeting around. Let alone loop or waveride..... but they did!!!

Unfortunatley ruined by dubstep soundtrack so will this end up in Heavy Weather?

The height looks cool in photos but watching them fall out of the sky and crash on landing is funny

Better than being blown down the beach and wrapping around a tree or sign post.

I don't know Moby, I reckon being blown down the beach and wrapping around a tree or sign post is much funnier

I deleted that post as I had second thoughts about giving the argument further oxygen.

Not at all similar.

Firstly kiters need no ramp, and just rip on a heap of power so they get dragged up into the sky. Very very different to needing a ramp, right takeoff angle with wind under the board, right sheeting angle and not much lift so the landing is NEVER gentle.

Then further he did a full end over end proper forward loop. Something we are yet to see from kiting. And never will, I predict.

So no, nothing like it.

BTW half as windy would be 35kn and I see about 10% of kiters who can handle a solid 35.

Seems like some of the kiters posting here have a limited understanding of the laws of physics, in particular, those that relate to the effect of gravity on a falling object.

Given gravity is pretty much a constant for all objects large and small it's probably aerodynamics, lift and all those things we have no understanding of, but given kite control and the lift you can generate has a big influence on whether you drop like a rock, hit the water at warp speed or have a nice controlled landing those of us that like to jump probably have a little understanding of it.

I think you're being a bit harsh here Mark. I think kiters display genuine courage when they land their jumps, especially when they are "boosting" into car parks, pine trees, caravans, playground equipment, senior citizens out for a stroll, lamposts, etc. Credit where credit is due. These guys can teach us all something about the true meaning of pain.
