Assuming this is just an errant sincere post why are you guys giving this poor bloke such a hard time? Doesn't give sailboarders a very good name.
Ok so there are probably some d..head kiters out there. As yet I havent seen them although i dont sail with them a lot . There are probably d .. head sailboarders too .Just that i suppose kite stuffups are more obvious & dangerous to others.I feel a bit embarassed to be a sailboader when I see a run of posts like this.Fair enough you want to have a bit of fun but at the poor guys expense?

The kids are just enjoying a bit of harmless fun...I'm guessing it was accidentally posted in the wrong forum?

I'm enjoying reading the responses...although he'll be making sure he posts his questions in the right forum from now on!

I ' donned my firesuit ' & I was wondering how long it would take to get a red thumb for this one..

I didn't give you a red thumb but the reasons for the replies 'giving him a hard time' as I see it:

(1) posted in wrong forum - red rag to a bull, considering the p!sstake culture we have in Australia
(2) poor spelling - ditto
(3) regardless of any unhealthy animosity between kiters and windsurfers because there is a rivalry of sorts, there will always be healthy / funny bagging of each other going on

I don't think anything in this thread is nasty.

Looking at the O.P's thread in kitesurfing (posted after he realised his mistake) there is some bagging going on and 2 replies area quite nasty. The kite forums users' nasty / smartarse / snide comments to each other (in general) is quite surprising I think

Too late now to be putting on that firesuit - you need to don it in the original post otherwise it won't protect you. Much like Firiebob putting a fire out in his undies and then putting on his suit once extinguished.

PS - there's an idea.........a flame suit for kites to protect them from flame throwers.

PPS - I always find it quicker to run away than don the fire suit too.

Never bothered going into the kiters forum.Maybe I should post a sailboarding question there.. I dont think my firesuit is thick enough or legs fast enough..

No red thumbs from me...I save those for the few 'special' contributers to these forums!

They're not for you either Mark (in most cases)...although the trend to red thumb you was catchy a few months ago.

Well, it looks like a red thumb is cancelling a green one (and vice versa).
Can we actually check how many ticks ?

The answer to his question is easy....
Just don't launch the silly thing in the first place!!
Use it for something practical.Like a cover for your ride on mower or motorcycle.
If you really have to take it to the beach it would make a good windbreak/shade tent for the missus and kids.Just make sure you use some good sand pegs to peg it down.

Kitesurfing is set to feature on an upcoming Simpsons episode.
That rascal Bart is going to try to sel Fland(ers) a bow kite. In reality the producers are going to use this as a link to that "controversial" theme that in an episode of Seinfeld led to the immortal phrase "Not that there is anything wrong with that"
