So why not..........
To be fair Mark, I'd better tell the story. The beach is about 20m to the right of the power lines. I was interested upon arriving to see kiters setting up (first time I'd been to this spot), and wondering how they'd launch immediately upwind of the power lines. Thought I'd hang around and watch. Kiter walks out (shallow) until lines are tight, friend launches kite. Kiter obviously could kite, couple of short tacks? and he's making ground upwind, thought all was good. Suddenly his whole bar set-up seperates from harness (something broke), kite goes over power lines, bar snags on power lines, kite lands. Gusts were powering up the landed kite and subsequently the bar was pulling the 2 power lines closer together. They quickly got on the phone to the power company to get power cut off.
Kiter asked me to stop taking photos, so I said I'd not put them on the internet, but hell, it was a while ago and the opportunity was too good to miss.

He was unlucky, and they handled the situation well.
