You don't book any social engagements for the whole of summer (unless they're at the beach) because you never know when it might be windy...

I was going to say something similar:
You put off all your projects 'til winter. Even then you don't get them done unless they're night time projects. You even have to pay a lackey to mow the lawn.

Where do I start?

When you sell your beloved WRX hatch for a forester because its better to get to beaches and tows your custom windsurfing trailer better

When your wife and child can gybe better than you!

When you get a 'friendly' reminder from HR that you maybe using the internet at work too much to look at Sebreeze and BOM, and downloading too many webcams and sailing movies...... :(

When your wife spends your Rudd money within 24 hours of it hitting your bank account on a new sail......and a mast to match it, thanks Kev

Spend a week in WA (taking harness - just in case), no wind, & after several days wife asks if there there are any 'scenic spots' that are not connected with windsurfing

OK Wineman. To see whether you're really into windsurfing, please answer this question. You fly all the way across the country to go to Margaret River, there's a free vertical tasting of cab savs at Moss Wood for the next three hours and it's blowing 20kts perfect direction, what would you do?

When you spend half your life watching the wind graph on the forum & Bureau & answering these bleeding posts when you should be working! + the car is packed outside & waiting for the elusive southerly..[}:)]When your partner whinges that you are more interested in going sailboarding than going to mothers day do's or cycling etc..
when you tuck your new custom wave board up, in the spare bedroom and give it a kiss good night
PS _ Ill have to show this one to my partner so hell realise Im not that bad...

re video..god if only I was young & fit & could sail like that!i cracked up watching him trying to start the car etc.Years ago I was in a rush to go sailboarding ,music blaring on a high. I passed a car on an open stretch of road not realising he was going to turn across in front of me to go into a minor lane..I survived but I went on a crosscountry bash , through a 4ft deep ditch & just woke up in time to stop before I drove through a large window of a shop..If I hadnt been so focused on getting to a sail I probably would have noticed something & not overtaken..The vans suspension was stuffed..
