Cant comment on the technical aspects of this post...however, wanted to respond on behalf of the "lefty" point of view...I find that if you are picking up a piece of equipment and dont know about left handed options or there are none..it seems normal to do it the "right handed way" e.g. golf/guitar springs to mind (as I didnt at the time know of a left handed option)...however, when you do have choice then the lefty side overtakes that...e.g Cricket bat, tennis racket, writing etc...funny how the brain works..so far in windsurfing I dont struggle with anything more than normal because I am a lefty.

Being right handed/footed doesn't always mean that the leg is stronger... it's just more co-ordinated.

I can kick a football further with my right leg but on one legged squats I can get lower with my left... left is strong, right knows what it's doing.

Tick for the eyelet and pulley hook combo... failing that can severne make a little bit more space in their downhaul eyelets so that I can thread the rope more easily.

Just wanted to pick up on this, (nothing to do with CJW, he just happened to say it).

I'm a right hander and to me it would seem intuitive to push with my left leg, because then the rope is naturally in my right hand.
If I pushed with my right leg, then it would be in the way of my right hand.

Or am I just weird???

Actually I am the same, I am right handed and push with my left leg, just feels natural.

I am right handed, and I can use the rig-winch with either my left or right hand

Lol in hindsight my editing of that downhaul diagram was probably only funny in my eyes. Still the most important form of funny..

The joke was that it was clearly a HSM superfreak (note the excessive stitching and devo reference), comic sans text and the guy rigging it has sandals with socks. These are all funny for reasons.
