Here are the mechanics of a kite loop ... ^^^ The nuts and bolts all spread out, You don't need to have a wave, (and by the look of the glassy water), you don't even need wind. lol.
I wouldn't agree with that Westozwind. I would have said more of a failed kiter. Mr Slave was actually a pretty good poley. Used to do some good forwards and maybe some reasonable wave riding. I've not seen him do anything anything good while kiting. I think he's more of a full time internet troll these days. As for the loop argument, who fkn cares?
Yes, Gorgo that what I am talking about, Paragliders have got it.
One day kiters will do loops like this (and other things paragliders do). But with long strings and not much height the rider will be going sooo fast and there will be sooo many 1000 mph face plants into the sea before it gets pulled off.
How much height do you reckon he loses in one of those tumbles ?
And .... I would have said there is a difference between a forward loop and a cheese roll.
Roll was always more of a horizontal rotation around the mast, the loop came later and was a vertical rotation around the boom.
Kitesurfer jump - loft dont need a ramp so is that really a jump?
Not correct for either. You can jump both without a ramp. It just takes a little technique. (One of the enduring bitch fights in kiteboarding is the validity of sent jumps vs. pop jumps.)
With both sail and kite you get the initial air off the water but the subsequent flight is all from the sail. The longer "lines" on a kite (vs harness lines on a sail) just make that flight much longer and higher.

I don't know. Not as much as you would expect. The entry to most acro moves uses height but the moves themselves are fairly stable. I've flown beside acro pilots doing stuff and it's very cool to watch. I'm to old and too chicken to really cut loose myself.
The world record is 281 consecutive loops after dropping from a helicopter at 17,000'.

Now that is very sad that WAVESLAVE use to be a pretty good polly. WAVESLAVE neeeds to get his windsurfer out again and enjoy life
There used to be a kid I remember in Primary school who reckoned he could loop on the playground swing...found out pretty soon that he was full-o-crap!
