Took me 27 years before I could do them consistently. Narrow line between persistence and obsession and I know where I stand!

Some tips from my experience:

1. Good entry speed
2. Make sure you put enough weight on the downwind side of the board when you initiate the turn
3. Carve aggressively and lean forward so that you put more pressure on the boom so as to maximise mast foot pressure to keep the board horizontal/level
4. The rig flip becomes easier with more speed, so make sure you develop your skill level with points 1. to 3.

Cheers

Is this my future? I bet I can do it in 13 years.

Big tip from Guy Cribb.
Calculate how long it takes you to attempt or try a gybe. About 3-5 seconds, maybe a bit longer.
Now how many you can try in a session, maybe 30-40
So that's less than three minutes training on gybes a session.
So the tip is do as much as you can on shore, do it til you drop, get somebody to watch you and correct as you go.
Then put into practice

Insert gratuitous picture of how I practiced/practice gybes At the end of this session, I just got sick of turning...

For someone trying to learn on the east coast, I highly recommend the west coast!

Looks like at the end you done two loops the other way. Why was that, were you getting dizzy...?

Nah, that was where I got sick of turning the same way and tried to find where the locals do their speed runs.
