While we're having this chat, does it really apply to windsurf/surf/kite shops?
Most things that matter cost over $1000 or are bulky and expensive to ship yourself. (boards, kites, sails)
Most of the good brands of wetsuits are not available on the net.
Last year I bought a top of the range 2012 NP series 5000 wetsuit from the UK it was about AU$250 including shipping, anyone care to have a guess how much it cost from an Australian Dealer, and then estimate the interstate shipping cost ?
Recently I priced a new 2011 marked down sail, it was a bargain $750 excluding shipping from a popular out of state Australian shop .... exactly the same sail shipped from UK ..... $525, no tax, import duty no hassles.
Clearly not suitable or applicable for everything, but seriously ? Anyone bought a GoPro recently?
So to answer your questions and address your points ....... Nuff said.
*edit... Before anyone bashes me for not supporting local shops, in the last 5 years I have, from the local shop, purchased 7 brand new boards, and as many new sails, masts and booms and more... I do my bit but a bargain is a bargain wherever it comes from.
