I have the new carbon Pryde mast bases and really like them.
I have had them about 2 months and tested them at Cervantes and Melville beech in everything from heavy chop to small waves.
I don't know what durability will be like, time will tell.

I bent my Streamlined extension. Don't know how, don't know when, I just tried to use it on a small extension the other day and it wouldn't fit into the mast.

Could it be just that you were trying to stick it too far up the mast and running into the taper?

^^

No, not all.

It is bent. It used to be fine at 0cm extension, the new one is fine, put a steel rule along the old one and it is definitely bent. It still fits in the mast, you just have to ram it in and then struggle to get it out.

It maybe looks like it bent around the 28cm point, but can't be sure. At least being ali it just bent plastically and didn't fail totally as I assume a carbon one would (although probably stronger in the first place).

I currently use :
6.5 Gator - rigs on 430 RDM with 33cm extension
5.7 Gator - rigs on 430 RDM with 14cm extension
5.3 S1 - rigs on 400 RDM with 28cm extension
4.7 S1 - rigs on 400 RDM with 8cm extension
4.2 S1 - rigs on 400 RDM with -6cm adjustable head

all recommended masts for the sails.
