hmm, they were showing it on starsports this a.m. the br14's looks fun but it think they're a lot slower than the 420's or lazer2's in particular...yep i'd really like to try the skiffs..they fly at 20kts. cruising that'd be fun much more fun than hobies..check out youtube with a kite attached to a catamaran looks odd but if it does crash then it could wipe out the whole beach

Did sail on an 18" skiff, once as a fill in. Was an amazing experience - whilst they might not be quicker than large cats (Tornado etc) the feeling and size of everything at flight was amazing. Alas I was sailing Moths then, and I didn't get a regular/fulltime offer (or even another fill in call-back) to sail on an 18'.

Whats the BR14? - I thought you were meaning Bethwaite 14.

Would be great to try out a foiling moth - just need to find someone willing to let me try one [}:)]

The 14's are awesome boats to sail on but friggin dangerous.
Great fun when both crew are standing on the transom in full reach.
I used to sail on one of the flat bottom 18 style ones, great for light wind and hard to handle in a decent breeze. We weren't allowed to put outriggers on them when I was sailing them which meant the sheet hand needed to be tall and heavy or weight jacketed.
They have the same ability to Catapult you forward except there are these things called stays (stainless steel) all laid out like a spider web ready to catch and maim you on the way through them.

i think it was a bl14 irish made and designed and the sailing regatta was on u.k. waters..there is only one tornado here that i know of and is a 14 kinda fast too..the cats are fun to but for hiking out and trapeezing the skiffs seem to look more fun
