For mine this is up there with asking what is cooler to watch, Indy racing or speedway.

Both motor racing, both cool to watch, but so different they can't really be compared.

Guess that would explain why you dont go near a wave then wavegirl, show us something more convincing than your trivial **e that you dish out in this forum, (such as a picture of yourself cutting back into the pit, (mindsurfing as i remember u calling it (I've heard it called other things)) or crawl back to the other side

The Kelly move was 'ballsy' as if he failed to land it he gets zero for the wave

(maybe not such an issue given the number of waves he had in the final - compared to Mick).

Windsurfing aerials look more spectacular... IMO

Yep agree with you there having watched the final myself.
Don't think kelly's two 8.07s deserved a higher score than fannings 9.7, but they both deserved higher than fannings 8.6 (he only put in 3 turns on the 8.6). Fanning was well overscored on all 3 of his top scoring waves and slater's two 8.07s were underscored..

Mr Slave, can you do airs while you're surfing the forum? I reckon you would rip it to shreds.
You have so much more time on here than anyone ever sees you on the water.
Can you post some vid of a 360 forum air? That would be cool to see.

Ok I watched the final and Kelly was way better to watch, looked like he was just out there free surfing not doing just trying to do point scoring turns all day.

BUT on about his third last wave he basted out a wave 360, looked pretty sick but then the judges are gettng all excited saying he's the only one in the world that does them!

WTF

The surfing world needs to start watching more windsurf movies, maybe start with the one on VHS first. Angulo invented these 20 years ago, surely it hasn't taken surfer this long to work out such old moves.

Did you even read the original post? Maybe read it again? Hardie specifically references how good Kelly Slater is, in case anyone was arguing...but really who would. His post was not comparing windsurfers to Kelly Slater, it was comparing the spectacular nature of the aerials in the two sports.

Go watch a recent wave video with Siver, Brawzinho, Campello or any of the other usual suspects and tell me that it's not more spectacular than any other sport involving a wave. Sure surfers only have wave power to work with but if you come to any other conclusion you are surely taking the piss.

I went to the butchers and got some pigs brains. They fitted perfectly!! But still when watching surfing videos then poleys going flat stick off the back of a wave surfing still out does it by a mile for skill and how watchable it is. This may explain why the pay difference? If i wanted to watch big spinny airs id watch kiters doing dangles and riding away not windsurfers going off the backs of waves and splash landing.
