The method is commitment, I was trying to place the sail exactly right because thats what the good guys do when they have learnt how to do them...
But this just meant I was just slicing the rig forward, and that doesnt work, you have to commit your sail, and your shoulders, hips, head and everything above your waist into the wind..
also before entering the move dont over sheet. Because if you over sheet, you then need to swing the sail around your body to get it into the wind... and this swinging action will stop your body rotating.. for every action bla bla bla..
so the sail rakes back and away from your body before you jump, almost sheeting out.. the sail slices in a straight line, not swung around your body.
and loads of timing.
here is my mate max who I never listened to, notice the sail and commitment into the wind, then the board follows after.. (I also used to try stick the nose in the water and pivot around on it, thats also wrong)
